Note By Note: The Making Of Steinway L1037 (DVD, 2009)

As a piano player and owner of a Steinway, I found the process of handmaking these great instruments fascinating. Each worker speaks to their role, dedication and satisfaction in the process. The individuality and character of each piano is portrayed by several gifted pianists. I was fortunate last year to see the L1037 on display in Steinway Chicago and could not wait for the DVD to come out Starting with cutting down the trees, you can't wait to see the finished product as it all comes together. It is a great documentary.
