a Northern Nativity

I first read A Northern Nativity years ago and it stayed in my memory. I was delighted to find it on E-Bay. More a childhood memoir than a children’s book, it compels the reader to rethink our current consumerist approach to Christmas with all its glitter and contemplate the nativity as it might have been in various contemporary settings. The book is moving with its rich primitive illustrations, great depression era Canadian settings and its honest humble text.
