Northern Exposure - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD, 2006, 5 - Disc Set)

The best television series ever, period. Well written, superbly crafted, well played, and intelligently formed, not just a boobtube timekiller but a real, genuinely smart bit of braincandy that doesn't forget to tug a heartstring along the way. There wasn't a single episode that wasn't totally entertaining and absorbing, and season 5 took a good thing and just made it better and better. Receives my highest recommendation for a TV series. The actors, even the annoying ones, never fail to grow on you and every side story is just as interesting and absorbing as the main storyline. A modern fairytale for grownups that feeds the mind, heart, and soul while it tickles the funnybone.
