This is a family favorite that we have watched over and over. I purchased this for my "keeper" shelf and was delighted in the quality of picture and sound. A fun-filled action packed entertaining movie with a perfect cast and beautiful scenery. A gem!

Enjoyable non-western John Wayne movie.
) John Wayne symbolizes a lot of the great things about America. I remember growing up watching John Wayne movies with my parents. This is like comfort food but is a "comfort DVD". It's entertaining and a slight change of scenery from John Wayne's westerns but it is still John Wayne action and style which makes it enjoyable to watch. There's some goofiness in there but that's also part of the entertainment factor. I bought this because every now and then I like to return to a "simpler" time and be entertained with having to listen to a lot of foul language or sit through a "gore and bloodfest". I recommend this movie to all who love John Wayne and even those who have never seen him. There are better John Wayne movies out there but still this one works.

North to AlaskaMy husband is a huge John Wayne fan and has about every western he made. He has a large collection of John Wayne movies on VHS and now he is getting a copy of them on DVD. I have to admit that I like his westerns too.

) One of the top 5 John Wayne movies in my opinion. Its got action, laughter and a rough and tumble Wayne kinda romance.
Miners work a plot of land in Alaska. The one is in love with a lady he hasnt seen for a long time while he gained enough money to wed her. John Wayne goes to collect the lady only to find out she married in the meantime. He finds another woman like her and carts her back to Alaska for his friend to help him recover from the loss of the first lady. Wayne falls for her instead and then denies it. Finally they get together and all is right with the world again.
Some great humor. The comic timing is wonderful. Loved the sceenery and bar fights. As usualy Wayne makes the greatest awkward lover possible. You cant help but enjoy this movie.

I loved this movie. It had great characters, a bit of romance, some humor,some bad men, & a beautiful setting in Alaska. You can't go wrong with this one. Enough of a storyline to make you interested. This is one the whole family will love & enjoy watching.

It is one of the better movies in my opinion the Duke ever starred in. The setting and the other actors bring the song by Johnny Horton to life is awesome.
I bought this movie because it is my 12 yr old daughter's favorite movie by John Wayne. She loves to watch all his movies and the fact it is a song sung by Johnny Horton put it over the top.

A romantic Classic, with Stewart Granger and John Wayne. two friends who are Gold Diggers (miners). Who work their claim. A woman, who doesnt realize, that stewart granger, means what he says, gets married to the butler. John Wayne, leaves Alaska to go and get the girl for his friend. In the meantime, a claim jumper, is claiming everything in sight, and filing false claims against rightful owners. John Wayne, in the meant time, finds his friends girl, has married someone else. So playing matchmaker, picks up another saloon girl...for his friend. The saloon girl, is facinated by john waye, and falls for him, instead. Stewart granger, and john wayne, fight off the claim jumpers..and stewart granger figures out that john wayne cares for the girl more than what he is letting in on. In the end of the film, john wayne gets the girl. Stewart granger and john wayne are friends. Very rich friends.
