Norma Jean and Marilyn (DVD, 2004)

I bought this movie because I had seen it before and loved it! It's very hard to find in stores, but I found it on E-Bay. What I really like about this movie is that psychologists have stated that Marilyn Monroe had a classic borderline personality disorder. Her childhood told in this movie accurately portrays how abuse, neglect, and a lack of consistent supporting and loving relationships can manifest into a borderline personality disorder. You see her trying so hard to forget her past and move forward in her future, but her fears and behaviors prevent her from having what she wants most; feeling truly loved by ONE person. Sadly, no one ever did truly love her. She was wanted and desired sexually and was exploited and used. After she'd served her purpose for people, she was disposed of because it is hard to deal with the constant fears and behaviors that result from having a borderline personality disorder. Unfortunately, her life ended the way that is common for borderline personality disoreder....suicide. As a borderline personality disorder sufferer, I related to her life and could empathize and understand how she felt and why she acted the way she did. This movie was both very sad, but also comforting to me to know I was not alone and that the effects of childhood trauma can affect even the most legendary, iconic, and desirable people. I highly recommend it to anyone who suffers from this personality disorder or for someone living with a borderline. The movie sheds light on the subject without ever mentioning it.

I love Marilyn Monroe. I like the 2 actresses that played in this movie. Thinking it would be a good movie I bought it. I was very disappointed in this cheaply made movie. It was worse than a Lifetime Channel movie. I fell asleep halfway through it and could not bear to watch any more of it. I sold it on Ebay. No one can play Marilyn. She was a one of a kind beauty and talent. I would rather watch Marilyn Monroe on youtube than see this dvd.

I saw this movie on HBO years ago and fell in love with it. I had looked for forever for it, and just found it. Its a great movie and is extremely accurate as far as my research has shown. All my school projects were on Marilyn and had to be extensive. I didnt like all the semi-child porn though. That bothered me a bit. It was a little graphic for my taste. But other than that I loved the movie.

Good movie. Gives an overview of Marilyn's life and the complexities of being a woman with limited skills, other than her beautiful face, figure and blond hair, after being dyed.

I really enjoyed this movie, Ashley Judd is one of my favorite actresses, and I liked that some research was done on Marilyn's med. history, as well as her family, which tells alot about this lady's choices.
The portrayal of 2 different people for 1 character was great and I enjoyed that alot!
I bought it because it was unique and one of my favorite people, Marilyn Monroe, her life story will always be one of sadness and mystery.

While not a completely truthful account of Monroe's life, both Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino do a wonderful job of conveying Marilyn's inner turmoil. Fans of Monroe will thoroughly enjoy this movie about one of Hollywood's most troubles icons.

i absolutely loved this movie about the life of marilyn monroe. ashley judd was beautiful in this movie as always.this movie depicts the turbulent life of marilyn,as she struggles through her short life.i purchased this movie strictly because i loved marilyn monroe.it is a must have for any movie collector.
