Best Phone for Its Generation
Review created: 10/10/07(updated 10/10/07)

I bought two of these phones for $200 each from Cingular back when they were top of the line. They lasted me seven years before one was lost and one was stolen. They're the perfect size: thin, lightweight, and small without being too small. They look stylish. They don't need 4-way navigation buttons, just up and down buttons so this helps to keep the size down. They're durable. I've dropped them a couple of times and they were fine. The number buttons are slightly raised making them easier to press. All of the menus are easily reached by pressing the menu button and then a combination of numbers. For example, to change the language to traditional Chinese press menu, 4, 2, 5, 7. It also has Spanish, French, Hebrew, and Portuguese. No other phone I know has all those languages. If you hold down the call button, you can make a call with a calling card. It comes with its own games -- you don't have to download them and buy them. They include: snake, memory, and numbers among others. Even though the screen is not color it's easy to see and this makes the battery life excellent. You can talk for hours and leave it on standby for days. However, after seven years of use, it can only be on standby for two days. You can program your own welcome message that appears when you turn on the phone. It comes with 40 of its own ringtones. You can assign different ringtones to different caller groups. And you can assign different profiles to the phone. For example a profile for silence, for outdoors, and a normal profile. It holds 250 contacts. The only drawbacks are its non-color screen, lack of Internet access, non-polyphonic ringtones, and I can't find the SIM card. You have to do more than just remove the battery.
