  yes ladies, it's for you!

first off, if you're a text messaging freak, don't even bother looking at it! as you can see there are no keys!!! but, for the rest of the classy, sophisticated ladies it's perfect. it does everything it's designed to do.

the best feature is of course the mirror! no diggin for your compact, a mirror is already in your hands. it looks great and goes with everything i wear. the jog-dial selector takes a week to really get comfortable, it's a breeze when you do. if you're tech savvy, it has bluetooth to download MP3 or WMA files and connect a wireless headset. the Nokia connection software lets you edit/add calender and phonebook items, and easily transfer photos and video clips. i would suggest converting all your music to 64Kb/s or 96Kb/s so you can have more than 10 songs.

however, if you really don't care about all the tech stuff like me (i don't really use any of those features) the phone is exactly what i look for. a really, really, small, simple phone. i don't text message much but when i do, i can. it's a bit slow but intuitive, so it's not terribly tedious (i find 'textin' in general tedious). the camera. . . well, it's a camera phone. better than most phone cameras but the "camera phone" grade photo sensor requires you to need lots of light. another feature i use from time to time is the radio, not great, because you need the clunky wired headset/headphone to use it (it's the antenna), even on speaker phone. the battery life can be better. it claims 3 hours talk time, in reality 2.5 hours. during casual usage i can go 36-48 hours not having to charge it. i suggest you charge it every 36 hours for optimal battery usage (read about battery care, it helps).

the phone at retail is ridiculously over price, my bf purchased this for my b-day from www.importgsm.com for $500 w/ shipping. now it ranges from $270-$400 on eBay and other online stores. a bit too much if you don't care about the MP3 player, camera and bluetooth. overall the phone is beautifully designed to incorporate function and technology.

  Nokia 7380

The Nokia 7380 phone has gotten me NON-STOP compliments; it's such an eye catcher!! It's beautiful and mysterious - people wonder "Is it a phone? An MP3 Player?" Plus the mirror dazzles everyone. I honestly love my phone and I am so happy I purchased it - BUT - this phone IS NOT for everyone...
I still kept my 1st phone (I switch my SIM card back and forth), I use the Nokia 7380 for play and nights on the town but for a regular day in my life I need a phone that is fast pace. Texting is probably the thing this phone is worst at, I have amazing patients so it doesn't really bother me but others may want something that moves quicker. In all - imagine this phone as a glamorous purse that looks WAY sexy but isn't big enough to hold anything - the question is, can you sacrifice quality for beauty?

The good: The Nokia 7380 is a stylish and fashionable phone, perfect as a second cell phone for a night on the town. It features an impressive 2-megapixel camera, along with a video recorder, a voice recorder, a music player, and a radio.

The bad: The Nokia 7380 is not for everyone. It has no keypad, so you have to use the phone's circular spinner to dial numbers and send text messages, which may be too much for some users. Those with larger fingers may also be uncomfortable with the narrow circle controls. The phone's small screen and meager 52MB of memory does not make full use of its impressive multimedia features.

The bottom line: The Nokia 7380 would not make for a very useful primary phone, but it's satisfactory as a fashion accessory or as a secondary mobile. Even though we appreciate the impressive multimedia upgrades over its predecessor, it's a shame that the phone's screen and memory size does not make full use of them.

phone is great. if you want an expensive phone, definitely get this cool phone. it is a phone that will draw some attention to you. since it is a relatively new phone most people don't know what it is and they will ask you what it is. you will set a trend among your friends.

  Out of the ordinary

Most reviews I've read about the 7380 rate the phone pretty poorly for a variety of reasons, and as such it's not a highly desirable "primary" phone (see CNet, infosync, mobique, etc reviews).

Well, I beg to differ. This is a fantastic phone that gives the candybar form factor a unique twist, and I highly recommend it.

In all unabashed honesty, there is absolutely NO reason for people to complain that the learning curve for using the 7380 is so steep. If you can operate the iPod's click-wheel, you're competent enough to handle the 7380's wheel/button interface with dexterity. Because Nokias have always had a reputation for user-friendly menus, be glad that the 7380's is very intuitive, thus making it significantly easier to familiarize yourself with the wheel/button interface. Shortcut assignments for the buttons can be customized, lending to further ease of this phone's daily useability.

If people still disagree with me, then I seriously question how different is it from operating an iPod.

I'm personally very fon of this phone because of its resemblance to Minox's 15mm cameras. Hats off to Nokia for paying respect to Walter Zapp and his wonderful Minox cameras! IMO, the 7380 is the digital descendant of the Minox. Not perfect, but definitely homage to a legendary spy camera. Would love it if the two got together for the next generation of this phone.

I've been using this phone with Cingular, and so far it's been treating me very well despite using only the 1900 frequency. Clear reception in my predominantly concrete office, good audio. Pretty loud speakerphone to boot.

To be fair, I'm not going to turn a blind eye to its limitations: lack of 850 frequency, lack of expandable memory, lack of IR, a pretty tiny screen and the mirror surface which picks up all kinds of smudges. If Nokia corrected the first 4 limitations and changed up the mirrored surface, This would definitely be a hit for anyone.

Kudos to Nokia for being innovative!

I like the compact size and the mirror.

It is difficult to see during the day but great at night.

  Fab Phone ... needs revamping

Lets get the easy stuff out of the way. I love this phone ... its spaceage-esque, attracts alot of attention and is deffinitely easy on the eyes. I 'v hd it for about two months now, and no major problems.

I think Nokia is a frontrunner in the cellphone industry. They have made an excellent phone BUT

1. The screen needs to be modified, so that when the user is outside, the phone menus can still be visible ( it would be interesting to see how they do this without getting rid of the mirror)
2. The phone needs to be updated to receive multimedia mesages, email and that audiomessage menu needs to go
3. The screen is too small
4. Bluetooth connectivity to other phones needs to be improved.

It was not in that great of shape when i recieved it. the rubber was slightly peeling off the pin wheel. It would randomly shut off even the first day i had it and eventually wouldn't turn on at all. so i pretty much assume that someone sold me their broken piece of crap for 300 dollars.
