Introduced in North America by T-Mobile and Fido in the second quarter of 2008. It's physically very similar to the Nokia 6300 (Type RM-222 and Type RM-217). It is a strong, lightweight and easy to use device equipped with camera, music player, Bluetooth and WiFi. The 6301b is part of the 6300/6301/6300i series of devices Nokia released that share a common stainless steel frame, full color display, four jewel-like keys above the 12 key numeric pad and a five way navigation key. Additionally they share side lights, a top power switch, a side rocker volume key and a stainless steel battery cover. Although physically similar they are unique inside and targeted at quite different audiences. The internal differences, although at times difficult to discern from a cursory inspection of the exterior are plain to see when you examine the FCC ID or the Type as listed on the device label inside the battery compartment. The 6301b is Type: RM-323. The 6301b is targeted at the North American audience that has a need for a media device with a capable camera able to access the network via the Internet using IEEE 802.11b/g UMA protocols.
