  Awesome phone!

I absolutely love this phone! The middle row of the keypad is not as bad as they said and really not that noticible. I love the sleekness of the phone and the interface is super user friendly. I had to downgrade from a sidekick Lx and was a little worried, but this phone's MP3 player is great. And it takes way better pictures than my sidekick did. The sound is clear. My only concern is the battery life. I frequent my mp3's, games and such so I absolutely have to charge it every night. Over the years I have purchased and used many phones, so many that my friends call me a techno-gadget geek. But I thoroughly use the phone to the fullest before rendering my opinion. The calls are clear and the video is clear. It kinda sucks that there is no flash, but it still takes a great picture. Aside from the battery life, this phone is a champ. I am very well pleased as this is by far the very best nokia flip phone I have owned to date.

  Great Phone (Comparison to 6133)
Review created: 02/18/09

As someone who has owned and/or used several tmobile phones that have come out within the last couple years, I have to say, that this phone is probably the best. I bought this phone about a year ago to replace a Nokia 6133 that was beginning to show signs of its age.

Feature for feature it is very similar to the older 6133, except it has external music player buttons, it has a mini usb port and a 2.5 mm headset jack (both of which were not offered on the 6133, it had less compatible format). Nokia also corrected the problem with the camera button being hypersensitive and turning on in your pocket. This phone also lets you use true MP3 files as ringtones, which was something the 6133 would not let you do, but it still lets you use WMA files as well, which is nice. One drawback is that if you don't lock the keypad, the mp3 player can sometimes start in your pocket, but that is a relatively minor nuisance.

This phone was also the first phone that T-Mobile had that offered 3G technology, now I don't live in a 3G area, so I don't know how this phone worked in that regard. I will say that I have very few dropped calls with this phone, and it does perform better than other T-Mobile phones in that regard.

The only feature this phone doesn't have that I wish it did was the capability to use T-Mobile at home (their wifi connection program), as I think that this would greatly improve an already great phone, especially in areas with wifi hot spots.

Overall other than the wifi capabilities, which don't apply to any major carriers in the US besides T-Mobile, this phone has everything I am looking for in a phone, and the only thing that would make me replace this handset is if they come out with another one with all the great features of this phone and the wifi capabilities.

  TAKE HONESTY INTO CONSIDERATION!

I ALWAYS HAD NEXTEL WITH THE MILITARY GRADE PHONES. WE HAD RECENTLY SWITCHED TO T-MOBILE. I RECIEVED A VERY NICE PHONE WITH T-MOBILE, BUT CALL ME A CHARACTOR OF HABIT. I SAW THIS PHONE ON E-BAY AND THE DISCRIPTION WAS "SLIGHTLY USED". MOST PEOPLE WOULD JUST SKIM ON BY THAT, BUT I TOOOK MY TIME TO READ THE DISCRIPTION AND E-MAIL THE GENTLEMAN WHO WAS SELLING IT. i HAD A GOOD FEELING. I WON THE PHONE, THERE WERE NO OTHER BIDS. WHEN THE PHONE ARRIVED AT MY HOME, IT WAS PERFECT! IT HAD ALL THE FEATURES I WANTED AND HAD SOME WEIGHT TO IT. IT WAS DISCRIBED AS HAVING ONE SCRATCH ON THE BACK OF IT AND I AM REALLY PICKY. YOU HAD TO LOOK HARD TO FIND THE SCRATCH AND IT DOES NOT EFFECT THE BEAUTY OR PERFORMANCE OF THIS PHONE. THE BIGGEST PLUS WAS THE SELLER. VERY HONEST, AND I KNOW HE COULD HAVE SOLD THIS PHONE FOR AT LEAST TWICE AS MUCH. TO ALL YOU E-BAYERS OUT THERE, TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ OVER THE DISCRIPTION, E-MAIL THE SELLER, CHECK OUT THIER FEEDBACK AND MOST OF ALL, COMMUNICATE!

Did You Like Nokia 6133 But Wanted More? Here It Is!
Review created: 11/06/08
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

After using, buying and selling over three dozen Nokia 6133 handsets in a 15 month period I found them to be pretty decent. But despite being reliable and very functional they were lacking in ways that were made obvious by the advent of more full featured devices such as the N75.

Nokia took those extra features, squeezed them a bit and put them in a package that has about the same hand feel as the 6133. Features such as? you might ask.

‘ External music player controls
‘ UMTS 1700/2100 for T-Mobile's T-G high speed network
‘ Format compatible with most music files
‘ MPEG-4 video recording
‘ 30 megabytes of internal memory
‘ Large 2.2 inch diagonal screen
‘ Secondary video call camera
‘ E-mail with attachments
‘ Opera Mini browser
‘ Higher capacity battery

All of this in a form factor that is only a tenth of an inch longer and a smidge thicker than the 6133. Okay, so we had to give up the very cool push button flip opener. No more playing "Captain Kirk" with our mobile phones. But the array of improved features is impressive.

Physical improvements include losing the Pop-port and gaining the USB connector; losing the Pop-port and using the the Nokia 2.5 mm audio jack. Now we can transfer information and listen to music at the same time.

The camera maintains the same pixel density but now you can store your images to a 4 gigantabyte microSDHC with Class 4 speed (4 MB per second.) Twice as many images, songs, video clips or whatever can be stored on this device than you could store on the 6133.

Because it is a Nokia the signal, voice and other basic mobile phone functions are all there. This has the full range of voice codecs to save battery power or make sure you are heard loud and clear. (Full Rate, Enhanced Full Rate, Adaptive Multi Rate)

I'd rate this a "Do Buy" for anyone who was not wanting to step up to a Symbian based Exx or Nxx Nokia but wanted an easy transition from their 6133, 6103 or similar Nokia for T-Mobile flip phone. The learning curve will be flat and the rewards will be rich.

A solid phone for the average user.
Review created: 12/19/07

The good: The Nokia 6263 has a simple, user-friendly design, a vivid display, satisfying call quality, and a decent feature set that includes stereo Bluetooth, a music player, and world phone support.

The bad: The Nokia 6263's user interface was rather sluggish, and it lacks voice dialing. The middle row of its keypad felt a bit cheap, and the speaker has a sensitive sweet spot.

The bottom line: With a solid combination of design, features, and performance, the Nokia 6263 is a worthy successor to the Nokia 6133.

It's clear that T-Mobile is up to something. Though it is the only major carrier not to have a 3G network (at least at the time of this writing), that hasn't stopped it from adding 3G-capable phones to its lineup. First, it was the Samsung SGH-T369, and now it's the new Nokia 6263. What's more, while T-Mobile also is the only carrier to lack a music downloading service, it's still gone ahead and introduced a couple of music-themed handsets. First was the Samsung Beat SGH-T539, and now it's (you guessed it) the Nokia 6263. Though it somewhat resembles T-Mobile's earlier Nokia 6133, the 6263 adds dedicated music controls, stereo Bluetooth, and the aforementioned 3G capability. The functional design remains minimalist but appealing, and the call quality is satisfactory. We noticed, however, that the 6263's Series 40 user interface was the slightest bit slow. The 6263 is a reasonable $209 if you pay full price, but you can get it for a reasonable $79 with service.

The Little Cell Phone that Could
Review created: 12/02/08
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Over the past several months now I have used a Nokia 6263. The phone has worked very well and honestly never let me down once. The phone was quick with its internal system and you are able to text smoothy and quickly on the keys. This phone has many valuable options when it comes to the multimedia arena.

Since this phone is a flip phone, on the out side there is a little screen with multimedia buttons. You are able to use this phone like an MP3 Player and are able to even drag songs over from your iTunes Library (if you use that program). The phone has an optional micro SD card slot and I believe the maximum you can add to the phone via that slot is 8gb.

The phone is overall is attractive and as skinny as I have seen Nokia's in the Untied States. The camera on the phone is very good and also takes movie clips. Overall, this phone has a lot of value and is realiable to work for many years to come. Overall, if you are on a budget or need to stay away from those Apple iPhones, T-Mobile G1, etc. this little pone packs more then enough power to get the job done. I hope you find this review useful, thank you.

I had an older nokia that was falling apart not due to lack of quality but my 18 month old son who loves to take pictures and throw it... the phone holds up pretty well in the picture taking but the throw is not recommended. Nokia is a great phone not a lot of problems so far I've owned 5 so far!

  Older model with newer features

This is a great phone for small hands, lightweight and compact. It can be kept simple, or you can do all the tweaking you want ... customized ring tones for each special caller, custom wall paper, special profiles, add games ... make it your own.

It does not, however, do very well when stepped upon by tall men. The large screen tends to shatter, which makes using the menu or major texting pretty much impossible. It does, however, still work for voice calls and such. And using the Bluetooth ability can save some of your goodies that the computer link doesn't access.

Bottom line: It works, even when abused. It works even better when intact. Only complaint I have is that I can't use the FM radio unless I have earplugs plugged in.

I purchased this phone for my wife. I never received this item, and after writing to E-Bay, the item was removed, and I was told not to pay. I paid for it upon purchase ,so that was not possible. I have filed a complaint with Paypal, and as of this day, have not resolved this. This is the second time I have had a problem buying a phone, so I doubt I will buy another through E-Bay. Have purchased many other item's, without any problem's. Thank's

All great EXCEPT BATTERY PROBLEMS. The fully charged battery will last maybe 12 hours before requiring recharging. Also, the back side of cell phone is hard to remove for access to battery. Otherwise, a great cell phone.

  Kudos for the Nokia!
Review created: 10/09/09

I started out using Nokia's but "drifted" away from them. However I live off the interstate about three miles (as the crow flies) and I have had lots of trouble getting a good signal (in the house) with other brands. Although my wife has another brand ***** that does get a good signal but it has NO "bells or whistles", my wife don't care about that but I do! So here comes the Nokia 6263 at a fair price with the FM radio, SD card slot, a real good camera.
I purchased it and it gets a good signal IN MY HOUSE. It's a bit "fat" in shape but I like the folder type so that is not a bother. I use Bluetooth all the time while on the road so the battery lasted only about three days. I purchased an "extended" life (non Nokia brand) one and now I only have to charge it once a week. The battery not lasting I feel is MY fault. Would I purchase another Nokia 6263? Absolutely YES! I am very satisfied with it and aside from what I mentioned above (battery and "fat") I still give it an "excellent"
