Nokia 6061 (AT&T)

Nice big bright color display, awesome battery / talk life, sleek design, speakerphone, internet, music tones, takes a data cable - sweet phone! Love the Cylon-like red light call alert!

Volume problem - NOT. This phone has an Automatic Call Volume control that allows the phone to adjust call volume according to background noise. To deactivate this feature -

Menu, Tools (wrench), Call Settings, select Automatic Call Volume, select OFF and you can then adjust volume manually during a call with the silver ring above the keypad. And be sure the inside speaker over the screen is not obstructed by the top of your ear; place it lower so it's almost in line with your ear canal.

The phone is a good size - when open the earpiece and mic are where they need to be to carry on a call without yelling. The color of the screen is great - much better than the LG & Motorola flips I have had in the past. The loudspeaker function is excellent. Would like to have had the radio tuner like the 6030 but I prefer the flip phone to keep the keys and screen protected. Excellent phone - much much better phone than the Nokia 3300 that I replaced.

The Nokia 6061 cell phone has a volume problem. It's volume is very very low and has no way of turning it up except speakerphone. There are no volume control button. Otherwise a good cell phone.

I was looking for a cell phone to-get this:TALK to people with! I actually had to HUNT for a phone WITHOUT a camera. I already HAVE a camera. If I want to take a picture, I will use my CAMERA. Ill give you a moment to absorb that radical notion...
OK. I've had this phone for about a year now, its my 2nd Nokia of 4 cell phones I've ever owned. I was really mad for the first 8 months because I could FIND NO VOLUME control for calls. Only an "Automatic Volume Control" option, that didnt really seem to do anything. Then one day, my 1 year old was playing with it, (in my metal-sided house in the country I get no signal so he cant call out..:)and when I got it back from him, he had tried to call out, and the LITTLE TYKE FOUND THE VOLUME CONTROL for me!!! When you are in a call, press left or right on the d-pad (assuming you are in the main idle screen ONLY; if you have used the keypad to enter digits in a call, this wont work) and THATS where the volume control is!! That is the only time it works. I never could find that info in the owner's manual, they could write it alot better!
So now its nice and loud. Speakerphone is great, graphics and screen are great, handsfree is great, battery life is great! I have dropped this phone probably 20-30 times on CONCRETE, still works great, just a few scratches on the chrome trim. Ha. Durable. It got left out in the summer sun once, which messed up the snap-open-close hinge mechanism, so now its just all floppy... No biggie, just not snazzy to flick out in front of people..but like I said, I got this to TALK to people with, not to impress.
But since you mentioned impressing, check this out: Nokia's website doesnt tell you, but there IS a data cable for it,(I got mine right here on Ebay, hint hint its the CA-45 Fbus type of USB cable hee hee) and software too! Forget about their PCSuite stuff, MobiMB from LOGOMANAGER.CO.UK has the software to put your own graphics and tones into the phone. I have absolutely one of a kind ringtones (it takes mp3 format!) and wallpapers, using photoshp and soundforge I can make any image or sound I want! Impressive huh?
All that being said, decent phone, takes a moment or two to find a signal. If Nokia wrote a better manual and provided better online support for features, it would be perfect. But they make like 30 million different phones, (how different can they all be, really?) so I guess they dont put too much effort into promoting one of their cheapest models. Go figure. I would recommend this phone to anyone who needs to TALK to people. And I still suck at Solitaire, BTW.

I like the flip phone style and it has had good sound and buttons work. It lost signal in town but not sure why. Usually it seems to be fairly good.

This is a great basic phone without a lot of bells and whistles. It took me a while to figure out the
volume control, but the silver ring does work and shows a display of bars as it is adjusted.
The main drawback is no USB data sync capability.

I really like the phone it is very stylish with easy to read functions, if you are looking for a cell phone to use as just a phone and to text messages it is a great phone, I also use it for checking email. It doesn't have a camera that is the only feature that I feel it should have but other than that it is a great phone.

This phone was an upgrade for the Nokia model which I had previously owned. I found this model was much easier to set up. The screen is bright and clear. The navigation keys are easy access. This model has a loudspeaker mode which allows you to talk handsfree. There is also a pulsating light which shows when a call is being received when the phone is closed on this flip-style model. The cell phone features include: multimedia messaging, media Net, download capabilities for ringtones. This phone was recently purchased, yet I am very impressed with what seems to be a very long battery charge.

This phone is good, but I have to give it a POOR score because the volume is miserable. It is set so low you can barely hear anything. I did exactly as the other poster said by adjusting the auto volume control settings and manually adjusting the volume, but it doesn't work. The up and down buttons on the silver ring do not work.

I got this phone free with a service contract. A basic flip cell phone. Call clarity is great along with signal strength. Battery life is also great. Got about 5-6 hours before I had to recharge it. Speaker phone was nice and loud, easy to understand the caller. Good navigation and screen clarity. Has your basic features like calculator, alarm, calendar, IM's, etc. Texting with it was easy and fun. If you're looking for a decent flip phone with good battery life and great call clarity. The Nokia 6061 is a good choice.

Very stylish (black & silver is a winner in my book). Easy to use with bright screen and large raised key pad numbers. Long battery life. I dropped mine in the water while fishing. Removed battery, let it dry out a few days. Put battery back in and bingo! it fired right up. Works fine. Did notice one thing while searching for a possible replacement on ebay just in case mine didn't work. Most Nokia 6061s advertised as "new, never opened" are actually refurbished phones. Definitely ask seller before buying if you are looking for a new but non-refurbished phone.

I bought this phone for my son..This phone rings loud and you can hear well. It is tough. Have dropped it several times and it keeps working!

I love the battery life, service, and user friendly functions. Only negitive thing is the speaker is not very loud, and can't be udjusted.

This is a wonderful cell phone. I bought three of them for our family members, and it's easy to use...no bells and whistles, just your basic phone. It's light weight. My only complaint would be that the numbers would stand up a little, so you know you're hitting the right keys. But I would buy it again. I think Nokia makes a good cell phone for the money. I've had other phones, that only last a year, but Nokia works forever! My daughter is still using the origional one I bought her 4 years ago.

Great Phone, Bright display. Good price. The speaker could be a little louder. But other than that,I am very happy with this purchase.

The Nokia 6061 (Cellular Phone)was a beautiful product. I did not like it because the phone failed to work.

Call quality for Nokia phones has always been exeptional. I like the reception I get on this phone. It's a good second phone when I dont want to carry around my PDA/Phone Combo.
