I decided to purchase this phone because the cell phone I have under contract with AT&T broke ( a nokia 6102i;it was my fault; I dropped it one too many times). I have always had Nokias and find them to be very user-friendly, durable, good quality phones. A lot of them have all the bells and whistles of other brands but for less money. My time to upgrade my phone isn't until June of '08 so I decided to get a cheaper phone to last until then. I read a few good reviews of this phone and knew I definitely wanted to get a nokia. Also, it was the best price out of all the (newer) nokias I saw listed on ebay. Overall the phone works great. The pluses are the nice, big, clear screen for one, and it is menu-driven (like all other nokias) and easy to use. I haven't had any problems with dropped calls or distortion. There are a few minor drawbacks, for instance the center selection key is a little "plasticy" and cheap feeling and feels as if it will most likely break after awhile with repetitive use. Also there is no volume control button on the side of the phone, you have to adjust the volume through the menu and that can be a very big hassle. Another detail I noticed is that you can not readily see the message details on text messages, you have to go to the "options" menu and scroll to select "message details" to see what time the message was sent etc. This has proved to be kind of a hassle. The phone also doesn't support many graphics, audio files, and features. Basically the phone is a good, basic phone great for making calls, basic messaging, and checking email. It is not for those who like all the special features. I will most likely get another phone when it's time to upgrade with more features (including a camera) and discontinue use of this phone.
