Highly recommended. This phone works great!! Works well when roaming. Great long life battery. A small and lightweight phone, loaded with lots of options for saving numbers and text messages. Has a screensaver, a flashlight, alarm, lots of ringtones, plus downloadable ringtone options, and other basic phone options.
If you don't need a camera and color screen this phone is great!!! Tracfone is very reliable. I have been 600 miles from my home calling area and have never had a problem with this phone, or the wireless company.
I have never used my cellphone as my primary number, and don't always use the same amount of minutes per month; this is why I prefer Tracfone!!
I consider this the best inexpensive cell phone that Tracfone sold. It is a no frills phone for those that just want to make and receive calls. Very solid phone and very intuitive to use. It also has great battery time.
Unfortunately, Tracfone does not seem to offer this phone anymore - or any Nokia phone that I know of (at least in the area codes I checked). I can't understand why they dropped the low end Nokia phones since I think they are very good phones. Luckily, you can still find these phones on eBay. Just note that you cannot use ANY Nokia 1100 or similar with Tracfone. It has to come from Tracfone originally. The firmware is specific to Tracfone. This also applies to any phone from a any prepaid provider.
Net10 does offer a Nokia 1600. Net10 is another branch of Tracfone with a little different price structure. If you use a lot of minutes every month, Net10 is an attractive option - especially if you take advantage of the promotions.
In conclusion....I have used several other phones from Tracfone and found them to be very inferior to the Nokia 1100. I finally had to find one on eBay since I could not stand the other phones.
This phone is basically easy to use. Newer phones are getting too many features, too many layers to click thru and too much time to text message; this phone does not. thank you.
Tracfone is the largest pre-paid cellular provider in the country. The Nokia 1100 could just be called the simplest, longest lasting, and stylish candy bar cell phone. The flashlight feature is very cool. Cell phones have gotten more complicated nowadays. Nokia knows what it's doing and worked to develop a phone you can carry on the run, literally. I had just finished running a 100 mile ultramarathon and called my friend. I didn't even notice the phone was in the pouch of my waistbelt that final loop. Very easy to access the menus and add more minutes. The battery will last a week and they are cheap and easy to find on eBay.
My purchase of the Nokia prepaid cell phone (TracFone) was my first purchase of a cell phone. As an older adult, I wanted safety and security when traveling. I accomplished this with my Nokia. I not only feel safe, but I have confidence in the ease of using this particular phone. There was little to no difficulty learning my way around the multiple selection options. I love my cell phone, and I would recommend the Nokia prepaid to anyone interested in saving a few dollars.
I really like the smallness of this Tracfone. It also has vibration. The screen is VERY easy to read for older persons. It is VERY simple to operate to enter names and numbers and select the number you want to call. UNLIKE the stupid Motorola tracfone. You couldn't read the screen. The battery indicator and tower indicator was under a shade and I never did see what they were. It was difficult to read anything else on the screen. It was the worst cell phone made. Jerry Brandt
my phone was stolen, and I had use this temprory nokia 1100 until I will buy good one,It is not to bad phone, for kids or for emergency, but not for every day use.It is expensive to buy minutes,so for one month it is o'k,becouse it was only $19. thank you
I've had this phone for nearly 2 years now and I love it. It's very convenient to have, no worried about contracts, and you can practically buy your minutes anywhere. Also, its the only prepaid that has a referral program, giving both the person giving the referral and the person receing the referral 120 minutes and Tracfone has just improved their services by giving you more minutes for your money. If anyone is about to buy or just bought a Tracfone, let me know and we can both get 120 free minutes. Send me at email at tanya.thamkruphat@gmail.com. Thanks and enjoy! -Tanya

I bought this phone for my niece so that she could have a cellphone at a cheap cost. Its also very easy to control her spending and minute usage because I am able to purchase minutes for her. It works out perfectly for a 10 year old to use and she even gets service in spots that I don't on my current plan.
Not a bad phone. Before you activate though, tracfone is offering free 100 minutes sign up a friend for both of us, so send an email to doug@webdoug.com
