Noah's Arc - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2006, 3-Disc Set)

Noah's Arc is one of my favorite series on the Logo Channel. I actually discovered by flipping channels one evening. Saw these very handsome Black Men and decided to see what it was all about. I was hooked in about 5 minutes. I did not realize the show had been on for two seasons already so I kinda came in the middle but it was easy to pick up the storylines of the characters. But now being able to have my own first season copy - I am really up to date on the show. I have heard rumors that they will not be coming back for a 3rd season and I am a little upset by that because it is a great series.

All the characters have their own personal flavor and style. I am completely in love with Noah. A struggling screenwriter. His sensitivity, style and romantic flair just overwhelms me.

Wade - the body and face just speak for itself! A hot man struggling with his sexuality - also Noah's lover.

Ricky - the most outgoing of the group will have you captivated with his promiscuous and carefree lifestyle choices - but underlying that bravado is a man who really is looking for true love.

Alex - your very outspoken HIV counselor always makes me laugh with "What's The "T" Gurl!"

Chance - College Professor and the most reserved of the group. Married to his lover Eddie who has a little daughter named Kenya (Alex called her little Egypt in one of the episodes - right continent, wrong country - too funny) One episode where he decides to learn to emulate the "Thug Life" is truly classic. You just have to see it to believe it.

On the whole - this is definetly a series to take it to the next level. I am anxiously waiting for season 2 on DVD and I hope Logo will introduce us to a new 3rd season that I know everyone with myself included is waiting for!

Noah's Arc is a series about four gay, Black friends living in L.A. It has been compared(usually negatively)to Friends, Girlfriends, Queer As Folk, and Sex in the City. If people could get past their homophobic (and sometimes racist) preconceptions, they would see it is simply a show about strong friendship.

I don't get the Logo channel, so I missed the entire season of Noah's Arc. This DVD was excellent! Not only did it have the all the season's episodes, it showed the original pilot, deleted scenes, and insightful commentaries on each episode by the writer and various actors. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys shows with Black characters (or any Friends-type shows).

There has been a lot of criticism about the characters being stereotypes, but this is unfair because (1) this is only the first season- the characters still have a lot of growth to experience and the audience has a lot to learn about them; (2) there are only 4 main characters, so either some are going to be stereotypical or the audience couldn't relate to them (and, besides, I have friends with many of these traits); and (3) just like Sex in the City, Girlfriends, Queer As Folk, or any other series it is compared to, Noah's Arc deals with people most of us don't live like, in a place most of us don't live, doing things most of us don't (or can't afford to) do, so this isn't the reality most of us experience (aren't the characters on Sex in the City caricatures, too-how many people do most of us know that live in expensive apartments in New York City, wear designer clothes, and write sex columns for a living?).

Noah's Arc is a good series for those of us who like this type of show. As a fan, I found the DVD to be excellent, and I highly recommend it.

I got the dvd a while back i got it because of the tv show but i like the dvd. I like that it didnt take long for my dvds to get to me over all it was a good experince.

i like my item alot, i watch it all the time, it was one of the best things i brought off ebay. i wanted noah's arc series cause i love the show, and i missed some of the season

This is a great series. Its down to earth and I really enjoyed it. I decided to buy it to support the gay/lesbian community and hope that we as a gay/lesbian community will be more accepted by lots of people, because we are people too!!!

I love Noah's Arc! The guys are funny, entertaining and so sexy! (and I am not a gay man) I just wish the season was longer! I watched the entire season in one night. I found this show when I was flipping through channels. Now I am hooked and rarely miss an episode. Logo promotes the show as Sex and the City meets Soul Food, and they're right on the mark.

I loved all the bonus footage. It made some of teh scenes make more sense and add depth to the plot.

Noah's Arc (2005) is an American television series. Often referred to as a dramedy, it premiered in October 19, 2005 on the LOGO Television network. It features the lives of a small group of mostly black gay friends living in the Los Angeles, California area. It has parallels to and has been cited as an African-American version of the shows Sex and the City or Queer as Folk. Noah's Arc kicked off its second season on Wednesday, August 9, 2006. The series remains one of Logo's most popular original programs.

Noah's Arc follows the lives of four African-American men in Los Angeles. Noah, the protagonist of the series, is a struggling screenwriter who falls for Wade, a fellow screenwriter who is questioning his sexuality. Outspoken HIV counselor Alex has some self-confidence issues and is struggling to hold onto his sexy anesthesiologist boyfriend, Trey. Ricky is the promiscuous owner of a clothing store on Melrose Avenue. Economics professor Chance struggles to maintain his sanity after moving in with his boyfriend, now husband, Eddie and Eddie's daughter, Kenya.

I am hooked on the show and got my brother hooked on it too. Season 2 is a most see as well.

Girlfriends + Will & Grace + a dash of Queer As Folk = Noah's Arc... I wish I had the network it is on. I am hooked on this show and got my friends hooked on it too. I can't wait to see more of it!!!

Its the perfect "Friends" of the gay world... Patrik-Ian is a genius as well. He captured a realistic and interesting side of the character's lives.
