Must play title for ADULT Wii owners

This game is just so cool. I absolutely LOVE it. From the sweet oldschool Atari feel and look at times to the overboard blood gushing beam katana fighting...WOW! This game just rocks! It is NOT for young kids, that is why it is rated M. The story is very cool, humorous at times, and well done. The controls are very cool, the fighting system feels great. Also there are many side-jobs / missions that are really fun, this game rules...for real! It has been far too long since I have been excited and sucked in to a game like I have with this one.

In this adventure game directed by Goichi Suda (of Killer 7 fame), you play as Travis Touchdown, a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak to him) who wins a Beam Katana through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer. One day, an assassin named Helter Skelter appears before Travis and the two face off in a battle. Travis emerges victorious and finds himself in the presence of Silvia Christel, a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA. Silvia gives Travis official rank of 11 in the organization. Now, it's up to you to become #1.

Excellent game for the mature Nintendo Wii owner. Breaks all the Nintendo rules about family-friendly games. Storyline is a bit convoluted, but none the less funny. Will have low replayability, but the first game is very entertaining.

My 25 year old son asked for this with his Christmas gifts. Ebay, of course, had it for the lowest price. NO store shopping was wonderful and he loved it. I always check ebay FIRST when I have a gift to buy for someone or myself!

Excellent soundtrack. The not-so-serious story and retro-gaming elements in the game are relayed well in the games' main themes.

Replayability - Yes I will be playing this again although I have completed it twice.

Too short? Maybe. Were there more to do in the actionless 'world' map; this wouldn't be a negative comment.

Crappy side-jobs? Hardly 'entertainment.'

Wii controls respond well.

PAL-censored. Watch a youtube video of the NTSC version prepare for the shock. Though not a fan of "bloody" games - it fits SO well in this game and its' EU removal was a big mistake by Suda 51.

All-round? A one-of-a-kind game you will not regret playing. So much more could have been done however. And I'm sure 90% of others will say exactly the same thing.

Buy it.

A good game, but not for everyone

No more Heroes, is all about style. On the outset you drive around town looking for jobs to get money, then you get to play the "true game" of mindless combat. Don't get me wrong it's fun. You've never seen a severed body with blood gushing like the gore in this game. The boss fights are crazy and the characters are eccentric. It's that the "open world" aspect between the fighting is just plain boring. Sure pumping gas could be fun? Anyways, this game is an experience that every (mature) wii owner should have at least once in this console's lifetime.

Ok to play. Easy to learn. Not as good as Resident Evil 4 but not bad. No children should be in the room. Very foul language. Lots of blood.

No More Heroes-- Perfect game for a sith lord
Review created: 04/17/08(updated 04/17/08)

I have played through this game twice now, and recently began my third time through.

I quite enjoyed the cliche references to star wars characters and events.
The over-the-top level of gore made the game even more entertaining, but places it firmly in the ranks of a M rating.

When I discovered the game had been pulled out of development to get it on shelves, I was disappointed, but it still provides a fully enjoyable gaming experience.

The protagonist is an otaku assassin who uses a 'beam katana' to dispatch his many enemies in an explosion of blood and internal organs, while they lament their untimely demise, (often despite a loss of their head.)

The boss battles are easily the best part of the game, but after all weapon upgrades are unlocked, the first few bosses go down without much of a fight, even on the highest difficulty level. However, unless you learn to use the beam katana to it's full capacity, each boss can be quite challenging.

Certain game elements could have been fleshed out, making it even better, and I wonder what the game might have been like if it had had more time in development.

The control scheme utilizes the unique capabilities of the Wiimote creatively, but does not require constant waving of the controller, minimizing exhaustion from constant movement.

If you get bored quickly with constant hacking and slashing, (and the high level of gore that goes along with it,) you will probably not want to purchase this game.

However, the side jobs provide a delightful break from the monotony of constant bloodshed, (if nonstop blood flow makes you queasy.)

From mowing lawns, to disposing of garbage, to eradicating scorpions, (careful, they're poisonous!) and even motorcycle stunts, the side jobs can be quite fun.

The game got near perfect ratings from most magazine reviewers, despite it's flaws, and I tend to agree with them. I would give it a 9 out of 10.

Best game of the year so far!!!

This is the game every Wii gamer (over 18) has waited for, a game with plenty of action and a mature storyline. You star a Travis Touchdown a reluctant assassin whos weapon of choice is his beam katana. After killing a drifter named Helter Skelter you find out by the mysterious Sylvia Crystal that he was number 11 in the USAA(United States Assassins Association). From there you make it your mission to become the number 1 assassin.
Everything about the game is great. The cast of characters, graphics, gameplay and music. What makes it even better is the Wiis control system. As you attack enemies they can get stunned and you can unleash various wrestling moves by shifting the remote and nunchuck in a number of ways. The top 10 assassins are all completely different from each other, and are amonst the best boss battles you will ever play in you lifetime!!!!
Summed up in one word AMAZING!

The game has a few good ideas that are good to play. Visual lay out of the game is stunning to look at but it is style over containt at times.
There is a lot missing from the game like the ability to kill peopl as you drive around town from one mission to the next.
I bought the US version over the UK as it still contained all the blood from your kills. For some reason the UK had them removed silly as the viloence is very comic book.

Not,I repeat; NOT RECOMENDED for anyone under 18 years of age, blood everywhere, swearing out the yin-yang.... but by golly it is possibly the best game i have for the Wii right now, if you can get this for a good price then do so(only if you are 18 or older) you will not be disappointed! its like Grand Theft Auto but with light-sab... err... BEAM KATANA!

The best game for Nintendo Wii!
Review created: 03/03/08

This game offers it all. It is hard to get and by reading all the other reviews you should know why! The storyline was great and had me hooked! I just love the countdown to being number one! I recommend this game to 17+ only as the north american version is uncensored. There is a lot of blood and gore, but so long as you are smart about things this game is great!!!

First time posting a review! Just had to share my joy!

No More Heros is a amazing action game and the only thing like it for the Nintendo Wii.The controls utilize the wii remote without "over doing it" for the perfect gameplay. The graphics are descent but i thought could of bin better for a top generation system. The games storyline is great with lots of twists and turns so you will never know what will happen next.I highly recomend this game to anyone looking for the perfect action game for the Nintendo Wii.

Well thought out levels and bosses make this game fun. There's different attacks you can use and power ups that last a couple of seconds in a fight that make it interesting. Definitely not for little kids. Strong language, violence (splitting people in half, blood spray) and adult themes.

Very good game. Hack and slash with humor and style. Upgradable skills. Also a decently long game. Very gory but in a "kill bill" type of blood. If you need a fun, not to cerebral game for the Wii then get this one.
