Nip/Tuck - The Complete Second Season (DVD, 2005)

I loved Nip/Tuck’s first season – if you read my review, I watched the entire season in a matter of days and couldn’t get enough. The Troy-McNamara drama sucked me in – and I enjoyed every controversial, provocative, and strange moment. I really didn’t know what to expect in Nip/Tuck Season II… but I expected to be equally enthralled.

I was right – except that I underestimated the enthrallment. If you found Nip/Tuck’s first season bizarre and controversial – the second season puts it to shame. Its equally captivating and riveting – but the practice’s and familys’ dysfunctionalities are more twisted and more shocking. I want to be careful not to reveal any of the plot – part of what makes the show so enjoyable is the twisting and turning of the storyline.

My only complaints of the show are the same from the first season. The McNamara children and poor actors – particularly the little girl. John Hensley, who plays Matt McNamara, isn’t awful – but he’s far from excellent (on the contrary – the adult acting is great and there are plenty of famous cameos). My other complaint is that the writing at times is very obvious – often choosing a single theme and demanding that every piece of that episode pertain to it… this often becomes a little to contrived.

That said – I doubt many people are watching Nip/Tuck for the fine writing. Rather, Nip/Tuck is so popular and enjoyable because of the characters, the controversy, the conflicts, the surgeries and the stories. Season 2 arrives just in time for the third season’s premier on FX. After being drawn into Seasons one and two, I suspect that the third will be equally addictive and fun. Likewise, I suspect that the third season will continue to build upon the shows already strong and continually growing following.

Nip Tuck is one of my favorite shows on tv. It's bold, provocative, and goes where other shows wouldn't dare. I once had someone ask me what was so great about a surgery show. I said it's not all about the surgeries it's about the motivating actions behind them and the characters!!

Season 2 was excellent! I was addicted after watching Season 2 on television and went and bought Season 1. The Season Finale was a nail biter. It made me count the days to Season 3 which is now on DVD!

I would give this season 5 stars....Highly recommended!!

Continue the excitement, drama, and fun with season 2. It is just as jaw dropping as the original season. It will keep you guessing and sitting on the edge of your seat. Admit it, it is a guilty pleasure to see the situations Christian and Sean get themselves into. I could watch it over and over and never get bored and always find something new to appreciate. Can't wait for the story to continue...............

I decided to buy the DVD set because as much as I enjoyed the show on TV, it wasn't always convenient for me to catch it on the day and time it came on. Then I would swear that I would catch it on the reruns, and miss it again. I love not having any comercials to watch, and see each episode in the order that it aired. When we watched all 6 discs, I couldn't wait for the next set to come out. I was happy I bought the set, because I can loan them to my friends to see or have them come to the house and watch them with us. I will probably watch some discs more than once anyway! It was much cheaper to bid for these on ebay, even with shipping added in. A couple of times I wasn't the highest bidder, so I just waited until the set came up again from someone else, and bought the set about $10 cheaper than I could have in the stores, if they hadn't run out of the set first. We have already won bidding and received, the 3rd season of this outragous series. I love buying on bay.....you shop from home, to find exactly what you are looking for, and you have the opportunity to comparison shop too.

Capitalizing from people's beliefs that life's problems can be fixed through cosmetic enhancement, plastic surgeons Dr. McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Dr. Troy (Julian McMahon) run a lucrative practice together in South Florida. While they are professionally successful, neither man does a great job managing his personal affairs, with family trouble and illicit affairs (with porn stars and the like) giving NIP/TUCK its dramatic appeal. Things would be a lot simpler if only their own personal demons could be exorcised via the minimally invasive surgery techniques requested by their long list of high-society clients. In season two of this juicy, enthralling FX series, the McNamara/Troy business is put into jeopardy by the surfacing of something hidden in the past. In the midst of this crisis, the pair of hotshot doctors must wrestle with family dramas, paternity tests, and the challenging task of operating on two conjoined adult patients.

I think this is one of the best drama soap type of shows in a long time.
The special effects are amazing the acting is great and the story line follows like it should. You really need to check out this series

I have been addicted to this show ever since it came on the air. I already own season One, so I decided to add to my collection and purchase season 2. I finished that in three days, and now I am looking to acquire season 3. If you like extravagant lifestyles and drama, then it wont be hard for you to become addicted to Nip/Tuck as well.

I love this series. I guess I liked from the first season, but couldn't stay up and watch it due to having to get up early for work, so I borrowed the first series from a family member. So, I decided to purchase the second series. I bid on this a couple of times and lost the bid, so then I decided to purchase the "buy it now price". It was an easy purchase, especially using Paypal, it was completely painless. The season 2 was fantastic. Everbody's lives are intertwined together. There is a lot of emotion too. Loved it. I am also looking forward to purchasing the 3rd series very soon. It definitely deserves an excellent rating!!! Smore6251

Every episode grabs you in and takes you on a spectacular ride that leads you closer to finding out who the Carver is! TV does NOT get any better than this! You don't have to watch the first season to understand what's going on but it's highly recommended in order to appreciate the plot. From the start, season two grabs your interest and draws you in. The story line takes some pretty good twists and turns and keeps a hold on you. The show starts to develop the secondary characters further and introduces new ones. There are episodes that you'll find yourself screaming at the tv and others that you'll laugh but either way season two is a great buy. Nip/Tuck never gets old so it's a great add to your collection.

I love Nip Tuck! I watch this show religiously and I can't get enough of it. I bought it because I didn't want to spend $50 at a store when I could have gotten it for about $30. There is nothing I dislike about it.

I still feel the same as I did about the first season it is just a great t.v. show very addicting and kept me glued to the t.v. for hours I loved it and cant wait to buy the third season!!!

where do the writers come up with these plots it is so cool i cant wait to see it still more edge cutting drama at its best and is the only show i religiously watch every week and am hooked on.

If you like gory shows and handsome men this is the TV series for you. They are not only gorgeous but plastic surgeons!!!!!Dr. Christian Troy is the perfect Dr./Man!!!And Dr Macnamara isn't so bad himself. The stories are totally cool and story line crazy. you gotta watch it!

If you like to be on the edge of your seat then this is the set for you!! I love to be able to watch them one after the other instead of waiting every week for another, so if you are like me you need this dvd set. The extra features are great too. I love it, its like a reality meets sitcom. The gore of it makes it soreal.

this season is so much better than the first the creators take the riskeyness up 5 notches it is a must for any dvd for your dvd collection

I love the Nip Tuck series. It is provacative, informative, and highly emotional...just what I like. I watched the series on TV, but had to have them on DVD to add to my collection.

The series examines the conflict of social pressure, medical ethics, and just how far people are willing to go to be one of the "beautiful people".

Season 2 of Nip/Tuck introduces "The Carver".The good (Sean), the bad (Christian), and the ugly (the nature of of unnecessary plastic surgery)are all represented in this series and The Carver gives credence to the axiom, "...no good deed goes unpunished...". The season ending to season one was good it could not be surpassed in season two; but this is still a very good series and if you have season one...
