I just love my new Electric Blue DS game system. The new WiFi games that let you play online, are AWESOME! It was so easy to hook up to my router, as everything you need is built into the WiFi Compatible games. You can hook up at home or search for hotspot connections. The Mario Kart is a blast to play online, you can find your friends with Friend Code or play World-Wide. The other game that is WiFi that I bought is the new Metroid Prime Hunters. The new DS games are great, and really utilize all the improvements on the DS system. www.NintendoWiFi.com helps you with the set-up. Believe me, this is what DS owners have been waiting for, it will knock your socks off.
The DS system is compatible with the games you already own, that is a big plus. This system is Child friendly as well as being entertaining for adults. It seems to be made very well, and I love that the system folds closed to protect the screens. I am rating this game system a 5/5 Excellent, because of improvements made within the Nintendo line. I would like to see a larger screen in future Nintendo system releases. The stereo speakers are a nice addition, and it has a headphone jack for private play. This is a very entertaining system for children and adults, and at a reasonable price. I decided to buy it for the WiFi Games. I also own a PSP, I love both these systems, and for very different reasons. I really don't see the point of comparing them. I don't think an adult or child that loves gaming will be disappointed with the Nintendo DS. E-Bay offers a lot of games for the Nintendo system, at very reasonable prices. Have Fun! Play Nintendo WiFi!

Quality Games beat out Better Graphics
Review created: 04/15/06
34 of 42 people found this review helpful.

Nintendo took a chance on the Nintendo DS in 2004. They released a system that was far inferior to the coming Sony PSP. Nintendo stood by their claim that innovation and amazing gameplay is what gamers were looking for. Nintendo was right - in a major way! The Nintendo DS has outsold the Sony PSP since it was released and outsells it on average 4 to 1 in Japan every week.

The Electric Blue DS, released in June 2005, was the first color variation from the standard Titanium flavored DS. For those that like a little color in their life this electric blue is perfect.

The DS went online in November 2005 with games such as Mario Kart and Animal Crossing. With the recent addition of such hits as Tetris DS and Metroid Prime Hunters in March 2006 the Nintendo DS is a perfect choice for any gamer!

On a side note - the Nintendo DS is on track to becoming the #1 selling system of all time. WOW!

Nintendo DS - Handheld Game System Very Nice

These Games Systems are just really awesome. I have purchased 2 of them as gifts for my kids for theirs Birthdays to upgrade them from their Gameboy Advance SP and these things are just great. The battery life is awesome on them they last a very long time, and I love the 2 screens but I will tell you the two screen only both work with DS games only one screen will work with previous nintendo games when playing them on it. Also it is cool how they can use a plastic pen that comes with them to play their games, and not just use the buttons. There is even a slot for the pen to go into on the bottom when their not using it so they don't loose the pen. On this system you can play all of the previous Nintendo Games on it so you don't have to get rid of the old games, and get all new games on the Nintendo DS. The screens also has a great bright view. This is also a tough little system you will not go wrong getting one for your kiddies. I feel my money was well spent, my kids just love these. One thing I do recommend is purchasing screen protectors to keep the screen from getting scratched up. I give this game system a 5 Star rating out of 5.

Nintendo DS - kids love it!
Review created: 03/07/07
8 of 9 people found this review helpful.

I recently bought a Nintendo DS for my son. It has been an excellent investment in that it is portable, folds up to reduce damage to the buttons and screens, and is very easy to use. The screens are large and bright, the instructions are clear, and one excellent, if simple, feature is that you store the little stylus right in the unit, which means it's always right there and more difficult to lose! It also has a separate port that allows him to play his GBA games.
I was a bit concerned about using a stylus directly on the screen and the possibility of getting it scratched up, but you can buy clear cling-on screen protectors for it. They have to be replaced now and then, but they are inexpensive and last a couple of months without interfering with play.

The price is good for what you get, and the kids get hours of enjoyment out of it!!

A great buy, in my opinion!

  Totally Scammed...misleading language in listing....
Review created: 10/05/07

7 of 8 people found this review helpful.

This DS was a total hoax, the listing said barely visable minor scratch the whole screen is one big scratch. It's missing the piece that covers the gameboy slot on the front. It had none of the chargers that normally come with the DS. The description claimed nearly new, this unit was far from it. I bought it for almost as much as a new unit and haven't even used it. I tried to contact seller for return, but since I was out of town when it arrived and she only allowed for communication within 24 hours of receipt, I was out of luck. I would never buy from this seller again. She is dishonest. This was the worst ebay transaction that I have had in my history with ebay. I can't actually review the product I received because I have been unable to use it. I did however go out to best buy and bought a brand new Nintendo DS Lite the black and red one that comes with brainage 2 for $149.00 and the whole family loves it! I am really off ebay right now.

Very disappointed Ebayer.

I would say it's worth it

I think that this still was worth buying. The $150 was worth it, because a free DS game is included if you buy it NIB. It has several good features, such as touch screen, but the bad side of that is the stylus. It is small, easy to lose, and very expensive if you have to buy another one. You can buy a set of them, so you have them just in case. Also, I reccomend that you clean the screen, or there will be permament damage. This would make a great gift for a 9 to 15 age year old child.

Excellent Portable Gaming Machine for a Great Value
Review created: 02/27/07
5 of 8 people found this review helpful.

This version of the Nintendo DS is an excellent overall system. It is perfect for on the go playing, but you'll also find yourself playing it at home with yourself or friends. This system is now well established and there is an impressive variety of quality games available for all players depending on your interests. The graphics are crisp and smooth and the display is large because of the dual screens. The bottom screen is a touch screen which many games utilize with the included stylus. The touch screen adds a lot of fun and depth to many of the games. Because the system folds shut, it is very portable, very durable, and resistant to damage, especially damage to the screens. Because you can play easily with other DS owners through wireless connections, this is a great system for getting together with other gamers for some multi-player fun. This non-lite version is a wonderful system and a great value. You can pick one up on eBay for much less than the lite version. Overall, this is one of the best video game systems available and you can get this version along with a number of used games for a great price.

  The Innovative Nintendo DS
Review created: 06/03/06

I have been interested in the Nintendo DS for a while now, because I found the system to be quite odd; two screens? I looked at it a little skeptically at first when I saw the demo in the store and kind of scratched my head, but then I started playing the demo of Nintendogs.

It was so strange, but yet so cute! You could use the touch screen to pet your dog(s), throw toys to them and do all sorts of fun things with them, and the demo simply didn't last long enough. So, I looked around ebay for a while, hoping to get a good deal for the DS--and I eventually did--and with the many games I'd tried out up to then in the stores, it was amazing. You could draw on it, you could move things around on the screen...there are just too many things you could do with it in-game. The possibilities are endless!I've officially owned one for about a month or more now, and I already have two games for it and may get two or three more.

There are only a few things I have a problem with:
- You MUST buy screen protectors. using the stylus too much scratches the screen like CRAZY.
- The stylus itself! It's actually a little on the small side (only about two inches long) so it hurts if you have to use it for extended periods.
- The positioning of the buttons and such--many times I've accidentally shut off my game in the middle of doing something because it's too close to the directional pad.

Apart from this, playing with the system is very, VERY easy. And the graphics aren't bad, either! (Get a look at the introduction to Metroid Prime Hunters and see for yourself. ;) Or better yet, just play New Super Mario Bros.!)

A lot of arguement between the PSP and the Nintendo DS comes from the fact that the PSP can do a bunch of other things. I ask you: Who cares?! Think about it for a second. Would you rather pay $250 USD for something that does these extra things on the side and has more movies than games on it to begin with? Or would you rather get something that's $120 USD (original) or $140 USD (Lite, coming out in June) that also plays games and is FAR more interactive? That's basically what you're paying for... You can get a portable DVD player for that much! LESS, even! As far as I'm concerned, you get a game system to *play games* on it, right?

Also consider this: The Nintendo DS uses specially designed game cards in order to play your games and save to them--with the PSP, you have to have memory ON THE SYSTEM ITSELF. If you get a lot of MP3's and play games a lot, let's hope that memory is enough--if not...

...As you can see, I love this system, and ebay won't give me enough space to list them all. Pick one up and play one for yourself--this thing is really cool, and you'll be enjoying it for a LONG time to come.

Personal Game Recommendations: New Super Mario Bros. (Rated E), Nintendogs (E)Electroplankton (E), Metroid Prime: Hunters (T), Animal Crossing: Wild World (E)

  DS vs. Lite
Review created: 03/05/07
by:
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

My daughter had a choice of getting the DS or the Lite version, she didn't want the Lite, because, it too small, there is no room for your hands and to see the screen. With the DS even though it is heavier, it is the right size for med/large size hands.

She likes the calendar, clock, pictochat, and she really likes that it holds GBA games too. She says the light indicators for the batteries are awesome, so she doesn't loose her games. ie. Green is full, Orange is running low, & Red is you better save your game before it shuts off.

She says the only thing she would change about it, is you have to turn the unit off, in order to switch from a regular DS game to a GBA game.

I got this for my 7 year old son, and he LOVES IT!! I decided to get the "older" version for him instead of the DS Lite because I could get him the electric blue color. It is also larger and seems more durable than the newer one. Another feature on it that is better than the DS Lite is that when you play Gameboy Advance games on it, the entire game is inserted, but in the Lite version it sticks out halfway. Although the DS Lite has a brighter screen, I think this one is plenty bright.
One thing I like better on the DS Lite is the stylus. My son's styluses are smaller and easier to lose. The stylus is larger in the Lite.

I bought the Nintendo DS and I am completely impressed with it. Before purchasing it I talked with my son, who had used his friend's DS and loved it,on why I should by this DS over the Lite DS. He has used both and liked the way this one felt in his hands. It seems a little more durable. It is easy to use and it has been dropped a few times with no damage happening to it. I have no complaints and will be buying this system again in the near future.

I enjoy the split screen which allows the ability to change views, see the map larger than a small speck on the corner of a screen. There is also a hookup for three game systems at the same time to play together, we haven't tried this yet but it is an exciting prospect.
There is also a drawing feature on the Mario DS and my son and I like to draw pictures and watch them animate, that has gotta be the coolest feature.
My son (8 years) paid for the Nintendo DS with his own money and treats it like gold. He is very happy with the product.

  Buyers Beware!!!
Review created: 01/09/07(updated 01/12/07)

I purchased what I thought was a New Blue HandHeld Nintendo DS Game System and find out after I had already paid for it through my Pay Pal Account that what I actually bought was emailed instruction on how to get free electronic products by going to different websites. I was totally taken advantage of and this item was listed in electronics section. Ebay pulled the listing from the seller and told me I didn't have to follow through with the purchase after I had already paid for it. I wasn't able to leave any negative information for this seller since the listing was pulled. Also I was unable to get my money back from the seller and paypal sided with the seller because they said the item was not signicantly different from what I bought which is a true joke. I am now trying to dispute it with ebay. UPDATE: Ebay resolved my issue and refunded my money. I am very pleased with Ebay!!!

  My Daughter's Happiness!
Review created: 01/06/07

3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

My daughter has had this glued to her hands since she received it for Christmas. She spends many hours on the weekends playing with this and her many games. She has even taught me how to play a few.(Not and easy task for the game challeged!) The graphics are great for such a small item. The dual screens are wonderful. Sure beats the Atari we had as childern.(Giving my age away) My kids all wonder what is Atari, and when explained and shown to them, they wonder how we could have such fun with such a lame system. But, of course for those of us who remember, it was excellent!
I would highly recommend this game system. Many of hours of fun can and will be had with it!!!

I gave this an excellent rating because I bought it as a gift for my child and I haven't put it down since. It plays all of our Gameboy Advance games and even our original gameboy games. It is easy for small hands to hold and seems pretty durable. This system is great for children, teens, and even adults.

This is a cool item. If you have some spending $$$ then get one of these. They are nice. I keep mine in the bathroom. I love bubble baths. I hope that I do not drop it in the tub one day. But, I am not scared. I never take bubble baths with REAL water. That would be stupid. I am really glad you have read this review all the way to the end. Please buy one of these. Don't just do it for me, do it for yourself.
