N64 BEST VALUE IN USED VIDEO GAME SYSTEMS FOR YOUR MONEY I think that the N64 system represents one of the best deals as far as used video game systems. It was one of the best and most durable game systems ever made. It rarely gives any trouble - as can systems that use a disk and laser eye. And if you have kids playing video games, since this is a cartridge based system you don't have to worry about them scratching the game disk. Further, games are both cheap and plentiful There are only 2 main issues to be aware about with the N64: 1. On the rare occasion you will need to clean your game contacts with a Q-Tip but within seconds you are back in business. 2. And when purchasing used, make sure that the controller is the genuine Nintendo brand and that the joystick is not worn or sloppy (this is the main point of wear on this system) So in conclusion, with a HUGE LIBRARY OF INEXPENSIVE GAMES TO CHOOSE FROM - as well as GREAT GRAPHICS - controllers that give you GREAT 3D MOVEMENT - and a cartridge system that far OUTLASTS and is MORE DEPENDABLE than the new disk based systems - the N64 is one of the GREAT BARGAINS available in the world of video games. When it arrived on the market, the Nintendo 64 (N64) was the most revolutionary gaming system to hit TVs or arcades – for the first time, players had access to an affordable system that 1) supplied outstanding graphics and 2) introduced intelligent role-playing, environment-based games. Nintendo 64 might be years old and, in a gaming and console sense, generations past – but it is still wildly relevant. The games are as interactive and consuming as anything currently being released and the graphics – while not HD quality – are satisfying enough because the gameplay is so outstanding. Golden Eye 007 is a classic game that can be played again and again today because it is environment and story rich – this holds true even by today’s standards. And such graphical and character depth was replicated and bettered with other games: The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, etc. Not only were Nintendo 64 games powerful at the time – I would argue that they are still some of the best games available. And eBay has all of the classics available – why pay $50-$60 for a new game on a new system when you can get these classics and, I guarantee, you will enjoy them equally… if not more. The N64 was also the first system to introduce such a complex controller – Nintendo’s new controller allowed for a Rumble Pack and a new three-pronged feel. It also introduced additional buttons – giving players greater control and options. Don't spend a ton of money on the Xbox or PS2 System and then buy games at $50.00 each! Everyone knows that the discs can be too easily scratched. I don't understand why some people have to run out and pay top dollar for the newest game system and then pay $50-$60 dollars for games as soon as it hits the shelf! Do your research when buying a new or used system. There are many great deals here on eBay at a fraction of the cost! But first, be sure to read the seller's description and terms very carefully and more importantly, check their feedback. If you're looking to buy a used video game system for yourself or your child you will definitely be satisfied with the purchase of an Nintendo 64! It may be an older system but it is built like a tank and lasts forever! You will be surprised by the amazing graphics this console puts out. The system and cartridges are affordable and there are a large library of games available, which you can find at your local game store that sells used games and/or especially on eBay. I personally don't like the shoot 'em up games, sports or driving games. My personal favorites are: Yoshi's Story Mario 64 Kirby 64 Paper Mario Donkey Kong 64 Banjo-Kazooie and the list goes on! I have sold many games system and the N64 is the one system that has never given me any problems...unlike the PS1 & PS2 which are common for disc read errors and the Xbox which have too many problems to list. The original NES usually has a common blinking screen which can usually be fixed by a good cleaning...but then again, who needs the hassle? The Sega cartridges last but the consoles don't. I like the Gamecube too but the discs can get scratched easily. The only other console comparable to the N64 would be the Super Nintendo (SNES). It also is built very well and there is probably more of a game selection than the N64 cartridges. The N64 and SNES cartridges are around the same price but you will find that the SNES console is a bit more in price. The only downside I would add is that the original controller is a bit too bulky and the joystick can sometimes break if too much constant force is used. But there are other third-party controllers which work quite well. So what are you waiting for...Go for it! Buy an N64...you will be GLAD you did! The graphics of the n64 might not be the best or match the quality of an Xbox or a Xbox 360, but its a fun classic system that is a must have. Its the newest system that you don't have to wait on to load your game like a system that has a disk. That's one of the best features i think that the 64 has over all others. Biggest reason, ITS CARTRIDGE BASED. NO LOADING NO PROBLEMS!!! Not like the other stupid systems that are (easy to accidently ruin) disk based! Also, VERY VERY RELIABLE, NO mechanical parts!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT LIKE these multi mechenical parts and complicated laser systems home CD player type games, THAT ARE NOT RELIABLE. These tend to break down, costing tons of $$$ to fix. AND we have to be VERY CAREFUL not to kick the damn CD door, OR IT WILL BREAK!!!!!!!! Stupid.
