I have or have had all of the non-sports PS3 games since launch. This is definitely in my top three, maybe even my favorite! It's fast-paced and very challenging from the starting line. The graphics are great, sound amazing, and there are loads of moves and techniques to master as you progress. It's highly addictive. Play only if you have some time to lose, but it's well worth it. :)

  Impossible Difficulty
Review created: 08/07/07

Anyone growing up in the old NES glory days will remember Tecmo's: Ninja Gaiden for it's extremely difficult games.

And let me tell you, there's no Game Genie this time...
This game is just as "hard" as the first 2 (at least) and i just gave up on the difficulty.

Sorry Tecmo, but gamer or novice, i don't understand how people can battle 200 ninja's all flipping into the locked room, in turn, and come out of there alive!
Talk about ridiculous!!
I hate those games where characters in a room/scene/corridor never "stay dead", as it were.
For example: You can wander yourself into a LOCKED room filled with, say, 10 ninja's at max...beat them up, and for every ONE that you killed, 2 MORE flip into the screen...soon the "GAME OVER" screen apprears to tell you that, after 45 mins of battle in the same room, and after killing about 257 ninjas, you didn't have what it took to move-on to the next level...

I know it's a video game, but it that's your idea of difficulty, don't even make a game with nice scenery....create a ninja in a White, dimension-endless, 'Matrixy' room, and just fight those 257 ninjas that keep piling in!
That's not difficulty...that's just nothing-better-to-do.

Ninja Gaiden - fun, great graphics and gamplay

Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PS3 is the same game as the xbox version, although it has a different name. I was not entirely aware of this when I bought it, but it really didnt make a difference because I never even played the xbox version. If you havent played the xbox version, you are in for a treat.

Anyways, this is a fun game and one of the best non-sport/shooter games on PS3 to date. I find this game pretty difficult, even on the Normal setting. It is alot of fun and the graphics are awesome. This is not a 2-day rent to beat game (like Transformers is) and there is alot of gameplay involved. This game will defenitely fill space if you have time to kill. The controls are easy and there are a lot of easy combos to learn, some more difficult than others.

There are 5 weapons and you can choose your favorite to upgrade upto max level 5, learning new combo moves each level. The story is good and there is a ton of content to explore. The hard part of the game is not where to go or what to do, but how to go about doing it. It is not overly hard and if you cannot make it on the "Normal" setting, it will let you go back and start on easy mode.

If you found this review helpful, click "Yes". Thanks!

Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Same game, breathtaking graphics
Review created: 07/12/07

Before I start I want to dismiss any hope that they fixed the near intolerable camera action found in any fast-paced beat-em-up game like Ninja Gaiden. Despite the new technology and super-powered processor(s) they still can't fix the camera angles that have plagued us since day one. However, the extremely smooth game-play and breathtaking graphics make this one of the few must-buys for the Playstation 3. If you're looking for a game that allows you to let loose on a ninja slaying rampage while still challenging even the most skilled of gamers, Ninja Gaiden is the game for you.

  Great Action Game
Review created: 11/25/08

I originally wanted to play the xbox releases of Ninja Gaiden, especially after hearing all of the praise the releases were recieving, but I did not want to buy an xbox to do it. Now after waiting a bit for the price to go down, I've finally taken the opportunity to play through, what I've been told is the best version availible of Ninja Gaiden, the one titled Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3.

It is indeed a stellar action game, with a good amount of challenge, character abilities, and atleast in my opinion, graphics that still stand as good in the current standard of games. The game seemed just as enjoyable as Devil May Cry 3 on the PS2, but I did find the camera frustrating at times, especially when in crowded fights and when fighting multiple bosses at once in the challenge missions. However, the fighting in itself is done quite well with multiple combos for each upgradible weapon the player can use, the ability to block, counter, use magic that can be leveled-up, throw opponents, and use a secondary weapon. Also, the enemies put up a really good fight, especially on difficulty levels very hard and up. In fact, I found myself frustrated at the difficulty sometimes, especially when having problems with the camera. Overall though, the challenge actually made this game more appealing for me.

I've been playing this game in 1080p on my Acer P243w LCD and as I mentioned before, I have been pleased with the in game graphics, even though the game is sort of a port from an older game system. It runs well and I haven't really noticed anything graphically terrible. But, the cutscenes unfortunatly were not upscaled, so they don't look especially crisp on a HD monitor and there is the occasional pause in the middle of a stage, for the game to load that lasts between five to twenty seconds that I found a bit of a nusance, especially after doing the optional install.

Thinking back on the story of the game though, it really was not anything fantastic. But, it did not take away from the experience really either. That being said, I am reminded why I bought this game and it was for over-the-top ninja action, which it does deliver.

So overall, despite the minor problems I had with the game that I mentioned in this short review, I do recommend this game to any action game fan who likes a good challenge. It will last a good while with the multiple difficulty levels that have different enemies and the challenge missions, which you can upload your score to see how well you fared in the game compared to other players around the world.

Get a PS3 absolutely free! This is 100% legitimate

I’m sure you've seen various 'free' gift scams on the Internet, but the following offers are NOT scams in any way, shape or form. This method has been covered by respectable sources such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Wired and G4.
The reason these companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all the referrals. All you have to do is post it on eBay. They use us as advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money that goes toward yours and my free gift.

There are many well known legitimate offers to choose from such as Blockbuster online, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use them to get a free PS3 or cash. Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you. After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer a few people (depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link.
Step 1: Click this link
http://www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4991526
Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and best).
Step 3: Complete just 1 free trial offer (like Stamps.com, You will start a trial and can cancel it right after with no charge at all.)
Step 4: Refer to people to do the same. Just do what I’m doing and use eBay.
Step 5: Receive your PS3 for FREE!

For proof that this is for real, click on the link below. It's the
company that is behind everything.

If you have any questions feel free to message me!! I'll Respond ASAP.
If you want hints/tips about the whole process, I'd be happy to fill you

  Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3
Review created: 04/30/08
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Sigma, I must add, isn’t a sequel to the original Ninja Gaiden or its update Black, but rather another it’s another version with new bells and whistles designed specifically for the PS3. Taking all the elements from both versions of the game, Sigma’s story still centers on a ninja named Ryu Hayabusa - a ninja who happens to be the descendent of the Dragon Lineage protected by his family’s clan. It is on a fateful day that he comes home to his village being burned to the ground and an evil presence that has come to take the Dark Dragon Blade. Ryu confronts the evil dark master that controls monsters and is cut down easily. Surviving the attack, Ryu swears revenge and sets out to recover the blade. It’s en epic setup but the story never really gets any deeper … then again it’s not the story that will hook you but rather Ryu’s journey.

As a master ninja, Ryu has a number of cool acrobatic moves and his mastery of his Dragon Sword will allow him to rip through a number of enemies that range from other evil ninja clan members to otherworldly fiends and even modern technology. He still performs all the neat little tricks from the original Xbox version such as flying bird flips to wall running while performing interesting tasks like running on water (much like in movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or House of Flying Daggers). The new stuff, though, is what steals the show. Aside from his own armaments, the biggest addition to the weapon list has to be the twin Dragon’s Claw and Tiger’s Fang swords he can dual-wield for faster slicing-and-dicing.

I have played this game thru twice on easy and normal and found it to be very enjoyable each time. The game is challenging. Storyline is great. The graphics are some of the best to date on the PS3 Top Notch, Control is great, I had no trouble with the camera angles, Replay value is very high. Definitely not a rental, but a must-own game. after you beat the game and open up the bonus missions I can say that they are difficult and very challenging but does'nt take away from the game itself, I give this game 5*****stars Awesome

  Graphix!!! But same Xbox game???
Review created: 08/27/07
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I played this game to a bloody pulp about 2 1/2 years ago for Xbox. I had NO idea this was the same game with a couple extra weapons and a few bujillion extra polygons. But, you know what?? I still can't put it down. The game play is just too good. The game is VERY challenging, and the storyline is cool. The new weapons kick butt. The female characters really, uhh, bounce around and do damage. If you know what i mean. I find it less distracting to be Ryu.
I can't knock this game even if they won't change the storyline. 5 stars.

I'll agree the camara angles get crazy sometimes. That said, this game will suck you in with the same intrigue of a great motion picture. It has to because the difficulty would not be warranted if the payoff wasn't great. This is one of the most difficult games I have ever played, but it is fair in that the bosses are beatable once you understand their attacks and weaknesses. It's pretty rare to defeat a later boss in one try, even for the "ninja freaks", so its not worth getting discouraged over a few deaths. So much fun in so many ways that it is a must buy for PS3 owners. Resistance is a shell compared to this game.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma: insanely hard but rewarding
Review created: 12/06/09

Some people call me a masochist for loving this game. It is throw-your-controller difficult, even when you get the hang of it, but it makes overcoming challenges that much more rewarding. The adrenaline rush you get after beating that demon who killed you six times is incredible. You shouldn't marathon this; taking breaks is vital.

All that said, the gameplay is great. The story is weird but unimportant for the genre (minimally exploratory goal-oriented slasher, I suppose) so all you need to focus on is fighting technique. And you do have to focus on it. Save points are few and far between, healing items are limited, and there are a LOT of enemies.

Graphics are of course gorgeous. My only complaint in this department is Rachel. Male gamers probably won't mind, but the jiggle physics are way overdone and get annoying.

Overall, a great game. I'd give it an "Excellent" but for the lack of story/character development. It takes skill and patience to be good at Ninja Gaiden Sigma, making victory all the sweeter.
