I think Ebay offered products are overpriced to me 40 of 50 people found this review helpful.
Since the Ebay's earlier days, I come here to find a good deal in cameras and accessories. We could find awesome deals and hard-to-find items. Currently, I'm shopping for a Nikon SB-800 speedlight and the prices asked at Ebay for a brand new one is more expensive than in most brand name store, like Amazon, BHvideo, Adorama, to cite a few (Amazon was about 5% less than Ebay and was offering free shipping). Most used ones being sold in auction ends with prices closer to brand new ones and not rare more expensive when included the shipping costs. I understand that it is not my problem if somebody decides to pay about the same price for an used product, that s/he could pay for new one. But it seems to me that this behavior defeats the purpose of shopping at Ebay. Lately I have bought all my photography gear new from BHvideo, Amazong, etc... based only in price similarity. If you're not sure, shop around and you'l see. See, I'm not looking for real bargains, only a price that gives me a feeling of that it was worth spending days following an auction. I really hope Ebay goes back to its roots...

When it comes to a flash unit for a digital SLR, I can't think of anything better short of full-size studio strobes. I use three of them on lightstands as a portable studio (weddings, portraits, candids) and they are close to perfect. Recently I shot Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and Celtic Thunder, and these things just never let me down, even with a major diffuser in front of the unit's lens. I use one with an umbrella, one with a collapsible diffuser disc and one to light the background. My only complaint is the built-in menu system. This flash gives you a huge amount of control, not just over itself, but over other banks of flashes (using infrared communication) so it's a stand-alone flash, a camera-mounted flash, a controller for other flashes or a slave (remote) to a controller. In fact, I use the SU-4 infrared controller so that no light comes directly from the camera. I know I'm waxing rhapsodic, but I've had so many units over my 40 years of photography, but none so dependable, powerful and flexible as this one.
