I live on property and am able to take absolutely breathtaking photos of insects, flowers and plants that are as clear as it gets. AF works great, just an absolute pleasure to use. I purchased this lens for the macro feature; I needed it for extreme closeups. But I found that it makes an excellent portrait lens. That, plus the fact that it is razor sharp, makes it one of my favorites. Review ID: 10000000001753047 Was this review helpful? Fantastic close-up images. Review ID: 10000000002460038 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 03/29/07 by: 8 of 8 people found this review helpful. I borrowed this lens from a friend of mine for some close-up shots of petrified tree cross-sections. The lens performed magnificently in moderate natural lighting and the resulting images were clear and sharp. The Nikon 60mm f/2.8D also serves as a great portrait lens for those people who don't mind getting a little closer to their subjects. Succinctly stated, this is versatile macro lens at a price that won't force you to break the bank! Review ID: 10000000003250579 Was this review helpful? It's a great lens, good for portraits and it does have a good focusing distance when you get real close but I have found that the 105mm that nikon makes would be the better lens for real macro photography (as I was soon told after I bought it by a fellow photographer). I would reccomend it to anyone wanting a good closeup lens for starters. Review ID: 10000000002303052 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
