Incredible quality and works much better than knockoffs

I bought the knockoff brand first. it worked for a week until it stopped but the beamwidth of the old remote was really narrow you couldnt really be off to the side. The knockoffs were cheaply made too. and it ultimately broke and I was out the 8 dollars I paid for it. So I looked at others and I saw the genuine Nikon one.

Well here is my comments on the genuine Nikon. IT hits it at about a 120 degree angle around the camera so you can be way off to the side. THe button WORKS.. every time. THe unit is smaller too. The button is better looking and presses easier (not some cheap thin piece of plastic.

Sure you can save lots of money buying knock off batteries and other stuff. but the Nikon remote. Dont waste your time having seen both.. the real remote is worth the 10 extra bucks for the quality.

This device was easy to use. Just went into my Nikon D60 settings and set it to remote mode for the shooting mode. Nothing to set up. Ready to use. Great for taking portraits and easy to carry.

  Great little accessory

This thing is tiny enough to palm when doing a timer shot -- even for someone with small hands. The pouch it comes in is similarly small, tough and with a tight velcro closure. The pouch is designed to mount securely on your camera strap.

This remote is infrared (like a DVD/TV remote) and unless you're in the sun it's powerful enough to bounce a signal to the camera so you don't need to be standing in front of the camera to use it. I routinely stand behind the camera (a Nikon D60 in my case) and use it for tripod shots to reduce vibration on long exposures. Out in the sun it's more important to be able to see the front of the camera to use it, but you still don't need a "straight on" angle.

If you're using it a lot, you want to set the timeout of remote operation (in your camera) high so you don't keep having to change release mode. I have mine set at 15 minutes.

It doesn't do a 1/2 press focus. It's strictly a release. However, you can still 1/2 press the on-camera release when the remote is enabled to check/set focus and exposure if you need to. When the remote is enabled though, the camera's release button only does the 1/2 press function and won't trip the shutter. In remote release mode, only the remote works.

I'm extremely happy with this thing, its range, and its compact size. Since it's on the camera strap I always have it when I need it. It's a nice design.

Needed a remote for my Nikon D80. This item works perfectly for my needs. Truly satisified. This remote makes the picture taking process very simple when I want to include myself in the photo. Very apt for tripod mounted sports photography.

This is a great, VERY COMPACT extremely affordable remote!! All you do is change your "Shooting Mode" in the menu to 'Quick-Response Remote" (on the D-40), set up your camera and press the button on the ML-L3. Great for low light tripod shots where you want no movement on the camera.
I suggest you get it just in case you may ever need it.

I was very pleased with the Nikon remote control

I like the remote control becauseit works really well. The reach of the sensor was actually further than I thought and I was able to use the remote behind my camera. I decided to buy because I had been looking around for this item, compared prices with other places and had recently purchased another item from the same sellar. I am quite satisfied with what I purchased. However, the remote control is much smaller than I anticipated and it could get lost very easily.

Did not have a chance to use it.

The camera broke before I even had a chance to use the remote control. I took the camera to a vacation. Standing on the beach taking pictures, the waves pushed in I fell into the water along with the camera. That's pretty much the end of it.
