The FM2N is light, rugged and reliable. I personally own 2 which I use with different lenses. The manual focusing is very easy to use through the focusing viewer. This camera is all manual, and not suited for inexperienced people in photography techniques.

  Classic Manual Camera

Classic manual camera where you control everything. The best way to really learn photography. Not like the current plastic available manual camera, FM-10. Perfect for students. Works without a battery when needed. Backup camera for many professionals. Shutter speeds up to 1-4000. You can use almost all manual and auto-focus lenses on this.

  FM2N Great for all photographers!

The FM2n is one of Nikon's best cameras. I like it because it keeps me sharp. Newbies who use one will find that they can actually learn what shutter speed and and f/stops are. With all of today's high tech, high frills camera work out there we often find that photographers under age 30 or so have no idea what depth of field is. Add to that the fact that the camera is made almost entirely of metal and can take quite a bruising. I used mine to literally knock out a mugger on the streets of Lexington, KY about ten years ago (I did have the motor drive on which houses eight AA batteries). I still use that camera today. I've heard stories about it stopping a bullet from an AK47 before (although it is no longer functional).

One of the best manual Nikon Camera of all time brings me a simple way of photography. It is fully manual camera except for the electronic light meter.
Since I am kind of photographer go to the real outdoor all the time, I always relay on the taugh and well designed camera. This camera gives me many choices of lenses. I am very happy about this purchase.

  Amazing SLR

this camera take some of the most amazing pictures ever. i was seriously shocked how sharp and good my pictures were when i got my first roll back!
its also a joy to use and operate, and i'm pretty sure its almost impossible to break (though i'm not going to try and test out my theory). for 200-300 dollars (which is what most of these are going for) you cannot get a better camera. you just have to be willing to deal with the manual part, though i believe because it is manual you get better pictures and the shot you truly want.
highly recommended!

  Nikon FM-2n
Review created: 02/04/10

With the possible exception of the FM3A (combining a mechanical shutter when shooting in full manual mode with an electronic shutter when shooting in aperture priority mode), the FM-2n is the perfect film SLR. Total personal control over exposure. No need for batteries (if you can estimate exposure without a meter). It sounds and feels as camera should sound and feel: a thing of functional beauty.

  Nikon FM2N

This thing is built to last. It feels good to hold it. Completely manual, has everything that a good SLR stands for. It has a shoot button lock that protects from accidental shots.

The only thing that was not good is the small sponge line which softens the mirror lift bump when the mirror is lifted to open the shutter. In my camera the sponge line is no longer soft because of oxydation and particles of that sponge line may get all over the inside of the camera. So before cheking how shutter works you might want to clean off the sponge leftovers if its no longer soft.

Henry, who I talked to on the phone, did not keep his temper when answering my questions. He himself changed his mind, cut me off in the middle of the conversation, then requested for mutual agreement with me. He didn't want to sell Nikon FM2N to me when I told him that I agreed to pay for that amount. I really don't understand the reason why Henry acted the way he act. I hope that he should not have that kind of attitude toward future customers. The Betteroffblu used to be one of mine favorite seller. And now, it is no longer........
I hope that this comment helps, not in a negative way; but rather in a healthy way since people who got upset usually have bad effect to their hearts. Goodbye!

Excellent experience with this seller & item

The item is super: it is like brand new, and the communication of the seller is very nice. I bought this camera because I could buy in the reasonable price.
Now I mainly use Degital camera, but I find when I use black-and- white film is much better. But I already sold all of my film camera, so I deceided to buy this one.

  FM2N Niklon Film Camera

hanus21 ( 2 )

My grandson borrowed my FM Nikon for a highschool photography course. He wants to keep it. He's the envey of other students with automatic cameras. Just like stick shift on a car.
I bought an FM2N camera on eBay to replace the FM. I'm very happy. The camera is in mint condition. The film back lining does not need replacement. The FM is my spare tire . All manual functions.
My only dislike is trying to read the light meter in bright light.

  Nikon FM2n 35mm SLR Camera
Review created: 04/16/09
by:

I alreay wrote about the FM2: buy a good one and: it will appreciate in value, be rock solid, give you huge choice of lens (1.2 or 1.4 50mm are amazing!), provide incredible quality of photos (B&W results are amazing). The Nioon FM2n is one of the very best 100% manual 35mm there is and I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

  Immaculate condition!
Review created: 04/07/09
by:

The posting for this item looked too good to be true, especially the condition it was shown to be in. But all the photos turned out to be genuine, since I'm holding the product in my hands now, and it is absolutely immaculate condition. The asking price was also comparable to similar items but in not as good a condition. Great buy!

  Manual Nikon Classic
Review created: 02/13/09
by:

I consider this Nikon FM2n one of the three great, classic, manual cameras (along with the Canon FTB/F1 and the Olympus OM 4 T/Ti.) Exceptionally well built and void of electronics that can cause problems sometimes.
Only a battery is needed for the metering. And, even with the battery missing you can still operate the camera.

This camera is not only a collectors item, but a real useable camera. In using the camera, there is not much to dislike. Matched with the great Nikon lens it is possible to get the best photos ever. It is also a great camera for a beginner, in that one must study photography to get the most out of it. Knowledge of basic photography is a must, no matter what camera you are using.

  SUPERB SLR
Review created: 12/05/08

Decidedly one of the very best slrs available to professionals and beginners EVER engineered to date, and probably Nikon's most clever and durable. The ease of use, as well as the wide Nikkor lens choice and compatibility made this little beauty a favorite for a quarter century. I for one, love it for all 35mm film
applications over and above my Nikon F3. An absolute joy to have experienced. VC

The item not the best one

Found some bending on DOF and the selftimer can't work at well.
But the result of the picture seem ok.
The one bending I can bend it back to original and can work after adjust.
So I just nevermine about selftimer because I not use that function before.
Average it enough for the rate..
