Often Overlooked ...

The Nikon FE was one of those cameras that fell in the shadow of the (less expensive) FM and FM2. The FE used the familiar old match-needle style meter in the viewfinder, and has an aperture-priority mode and automatic metering modes. The electronic shutter isn't as durable as the mechanical shutter in the F2, but it's still a very reliable unit that will give dependable service for many years.
A rugged body, FE's can generally be found for a few dollars less than an FM body, and the FE offers more expandability than its smaller brother, the FG. If you don't mind the full-sized body of the FE, ti can represent one of the best Nikon manual focus film bodies available!
