This book gives great insite to most of the bells and whistles of your Nikon D40. The owner's manual that comes with the camera is nice, but this book is filled with great tips and warnings for using this particular camera. If you are looking for a book that will help you get the most out of your camera in the quickest way, then get a copy of this book when you get your camera. You don't have to read it cover to cover, but you will find yourself getting better with every chapter.

Very informative, have learned alot just be skimming thru it. I decided to buy it because it seemed like acheap alternative to going to school.

Nikon D40 for DummiesWhile it gives a lot of information it seems a bit jumbled to me. I far prefered the Nikon D40/40x Digital feild guide.
This had some good references, but otherwise fell short of expectations.
