The D1H is founded on the pioneering D1, which introduced a new price/quality threshold to the high-end lens-interchangeable digital SLR camera market. While inheriting many of Nikon's fundamental concepts in digital camera manufacture that were embodied in the D1 - total image quality, enhanced speed and improved operability - this camera boasts a wide variety of enhancements that make it stand out from competitive models and place it a generation further on from its own predecessor.The D1H offers uprated consecutive shooting (up to 40 shots at 5fps) as well as faster image processing and data transfer both to CF media and direct to computer (transfer speed by IEEE1394 is now enhanced). It will become the standard for press photographers and professionals for whom speed is absolutely essential. In response to user feedback and a desire to push the boundary of digital photography to the highest possible level, this model incorporates additional improvements in various areas, which elevate its performance to the standards required by today's and tomorrow's photographers. All of these features and improvements are complemented by broader system compatibility and are packed into a lightweight, rugged magnesium body.     I recently bought a D1H, and it is an awesome camera if you use it within
    it's limitations. Yes, it's sensor is 2.7 Mp, but it's not the camera to
    use if you want to make huge enlargements, it's primary function is to
    shoot action and for usage in newspapers. When used for those purposes,
    it's an awesome camera, if you want huge enlargements and are on a budget(not
    all of us can afford D200's/D2x's), get a D1X. Just make sure that you
    get some good 3rd party batteries, like from Battery Barn, then you can
    shoot for extended periods of time, I put about 600 frames through my D1H
    at a recent martial arts event and my battery indicator still read full.

    The Nikon Dh1 is a really decent camera that offers many advantages over their other cameras such as the D50/70/100. The 2.7mp CCD is sufficient enough to print out an 8x10.
