Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens

I shot a wedding and had to shoot indoors and outdoors. Indoors the images came out great the V.R helped make it easier to shoot in low light with the pop up lens on my Nikon D200. I used mostly f8 @ 1/60 and there were no shadows. Everyone commented how clear the images came out. Outdoors the shutter speed was slower then my non V.R lenses, but they still came out very clear. I really like the 18-105 zoom because you could stand farther back and still get close up shots and also get more of the big picture. I would highly recommend this lens for every photo opportunity you can think of.

Great all purpose lens for Nikon D90. Excellent zoom ratio with wonderful optics. Buy this lens and sell your 18-55mm on ebay.

I purchased this lens so I would have a one lens camera. Since using it on a regular basis, I have nothing but praise for Nikon developing this lens. As a fairly low priced lens, the glass, barrel,switching system from VR to off is just simply amazing. The quality of the picture and clarity at all focal lengths is as good as lens's that cost much more. The weight balance ratio from camera to lens is a nice feel and close ups as well as long shots are great even when blown up. If you want a lens in this focal length buy it. It will sell itself to you and you will be the smiling camera guy. Congrats to Nikon, I expected no less. I've used many lens's and cameras. Nikon wins hands down. It is the most user friendly camera with a super menu that I have used.

I really like this lens! It has great zoom & isn't so heavy. It also is very quiet & finds the focus quickly.

My only issue (& I knew this going into it) is that it doesn't work real well in low-light conditions, but for the price, it's a great lens for my D300.

I use my 18mm-15 lense as my main lense.I am church photographer and find it a good "one lense" to have for baptisms,singing,preaching,fellowships and also church weddings. I would have liked the 18mm-200mm better but for the money I spent half as much. I`m happy with what I have and everyone seems to like my work.

It was a good value to for a spare camera that I needed. Lens works well and the picture quality is impressive.

I like the product , and I am very happy that I decided to drop the $260 on this lens. I was shooting with the Nikon 18-70mm lens, which was already great for a main lens - but I was ready for something that added some range and low light usability. The lens is quite sharp throughout. Although not perfect - I consider it sharp as it is sold as part of the D90 kit. It may not be 100% tack sharp - but it's very impressive for a lens found under $300! The range is also very convenient and useful for travel if you decide not to drop the circa $600 on the the 18-200mm, which doesn't always deliver as much sharpness as we wish for! The vibration reduction works fantastically - especially since the maximum aperture is just average. Luckily - the image quality is ideal at maximum aperture, so no stopping down is required. Anyway - I'm rambling - so just go ahead and give this lens a try if you're thinking about it!

I like the ability to take a panoramic view, and then zoom in so well to a close up. This is an approvement and a great lens to have in addition to the lenses that come with the Nikon D60 package. i do not have to change lenses so often to my 200mm lense from my 18-55mm lense. That is why I decided to buy.it.Not perfect..occasional delay in the full zoom focus, but still only occasionally. Bravo!

Many people ask me "what's the best lens for wedding photography?" After giving the obvious "it depends on the photographer" answer, I usuall settle on two factors that make my shoots easier. I'm not a fan of prime lenses for weddings because I dislike changing lenses. For this reason, quality of the lens and versitility are my factors. This lens has both in spades with a wide zoom range and Nikkor optics. VR works great at full zoom (I cannot say the same with lenses nearing 200mm), the autofocus is accurate fast and quiet, and the lens covers a nice wide angle when zoomed out. The only negative I can bring up is, as with all Nikkor lenses, the price. For the price, however, I feel I could shoot eighty percent or more of a wedding with this one lens. I find that to be a great deal.

The relations price betwen the lens is the best, and the quality the pictures taking with this lens is excellent
