    Bought the lens just before our family vacation to Nova Scotia. Made some beautiful wide angle views of the shoreline-sea! Also made some great tight architectural shots where I captured entire historic buildings and the "concept" of the structures without having to back away very far.

    The light weight lens was easily carried in a small backpack. At the 12mm - 15mm end there is some barrel distortion, but not a factor unless many straight lines are in your composition. Wide sunrise/sunsets and other landscape images are beautiful no matter what level zoom I used!

    I am extremely happy with the function, the price, and Nikon quality!

    I am a Professional Photographer and many times I need a ultra-wide angle lens.
    This lens is superior in performance to any other lens of it's type.It has true Nikon quality and has no distortion even at the widest opening. A distortion free wide angle is rare.
    This lens is worth the money for anyone with a Nikon digital SLR
