Nikon AF Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G. Lens

I can't believe the reproduction quality of this lens. It looks like a real cheapo, but don't be fooled. Auto focus is blisteringly fast. Sharpness is incredible as is contrast. Even it's close focus is excellent to the point where you usually won't need a Macro. It won't do 1:1, but at only a few short inches, it does a beautiful job. Given its look, I'm almost ashamed to use it on my Nikon D90 body. But "almost" is not sufficient for me not to routinely leave my more expensive Nikon lenses home and take this plastic masterpiece.

Lightweight and surprisingly sharp. Can't beat it for the price these days.
It doesn't auto focus on my D40, but it's easy enough to manually focus. Naysayers cite the fact that this lens is made of plastic, yet it is the same durable poly the F117's are made of, so it is tough enough.

Light, sharp, reasonable price .... You can find this lense attach in all type nikon SLR.

With reverse ring you can make this lense as macro lens, very cheap but usefull.

Great lens. Pretty sharp for a kit lens. Built cheap. I use it with my N75 and slide film when hiking. It makes a lightweight package that will surprise you in sharpness and contrast.

This lens is one of the best(for the price) that Nikon produced. At $80 new or around $50 used, it is a deal. You need a mid-range zoom, buy one of these.

I bought the Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6g lens because it had gotten great reviews and is one of the few lens that has an fstop of 3.3. The construction of the lens is very light so it doesn't add any weight to the camera at all. I haven't had much time to spend with it but from what I've seen its pretty good.
