Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Lens

I rate this lens 5 out of 5. I found the lens to be very diversible, I bought the lens to photograph an old hotel in Los Angeles, California. My 28mm would have worked if I was shooting a film camera, but shooting digital, I needed a lens that would give me that extra wide angle. The 18mm worked just fine. Any Pro out there will tell you that the 18-55mm is the most used lens in the business.

when it comes to nikon digital slr cameras. this is a must have ...do all lens.
you simply can't afford to run around without one in your bag. it is a staple lens for the nikon. I use the low end d40 and it simply gets the job done all around.

The lens is perfect and functions perfectly. I think it was a salesman's sample or refurbished. There were no blemishes that I can see. It was shipped quickly, I am totally satisfied with this transaction and would buy from this seller again.

I bought this lens for my wife for her Nikon D-40 and she just loved it. I was very impreseed not having used this lens on my Nikon D80 or N-80. It is smooth and crisp. So I bought one for my own personal use and indeed it is a great lens for so much. My wife has a artistic touch tho she denies that she does. She has never ever enjoyed a camera as she has with this lens. She has found that a digital camera can catch the moment for her art work ideas. Now the 55-200mm lens is the companion to the 18-55 and she has so far given it a AAAA++++.

was mir an dem objektiv gefällt ist die leichte und besonders stabile machart, klein und sehr leicht kann ich es auch im urlaub transportieren ohne das es viel platz wegnimmt. was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat ist der hohe kunststoffanteil. vergleichweise andere linsen haben am verschluss kein kunststoff, das kann bei unterschiedlicher hitze und auch bei ausdehnung zu problemen führen, ich habe es gekauft weil ich diese größe exakt brauche um dauerhaft meine nahaufnahmen zu machen und für die übergangszeit reicht es auch.

This is a great 'all-round' lens for informal shooting and vacations. It has excellent sharpness, especially when stopped down a couple of stops. It also has an extremely useful zoom range that covers most normal shooting situations. The lens is a great value considering that you can buy one for less than $100! We are enjoying it use almost daily!

I am VERY disappointed in NIKON...
This lens, on furthest distance, closest focus, with the built in flash casts a half circle shadow at the bottom of every picture.... WHATS UP WITH THAT NIKON! Didnt have this problem with my 20-88mm G lens!

Truly one of the best lens out there, I bought this lens because I have poor vision and the auto focus is excellent.

I love this lens!! I have been looking into this particular lens for a couple months.. And now that I have owned one for a little while..WEll Lets just say I take awesome pics!! I agree that the lens is only as good as the Photog.. BUT it sure does help to have qualtiy tools to get the job done and make some real progress!!

As far as I am concerned this is by far the most practical family lens and if you are into Photog.. Well this is an excellent start to making a strong appearance in the photog world... I am strictly and amature.. But My pics are commented on by local photogs and I have yet to recieve any bad crits on my pics... Still takes a few to get THE PHOTOG worthy one.. But hey.. At least it is noo longer 100+ !!! I would recomend this lens over and over..!!

This newest 18-55mm "kit" lens from Nikon includes vibration reduction - "VR". If you can scoop one of these up I'd highly recommend one. The VR really comes in handy especially indoors. One "con" that I have noticed is that this version of the 18-55 is not quite as wide as the original version. Other than that minor detail this lens is great for the money.

I paid, never received the item, went to dispute and found in my favor. Thus my account was credited. Now the seller has opened a dispute for non-payment. I'm fustrated with this seller.
Oh...they did email me earlier saying that if I removed my negative feedback they'd send me a replacement. I never received the item, never mind get a replacement.

WELL KNOWN BRAND NAME. AMPLE WIDE ANGLE SHOTS CAPABLE. HELPFUL ZOOMING CAPABILITIES. EASE OF USE BEING AUTOMATIC FOCUSING LENS. NICELY PRICED TOO THUS MAKE IT AFFORDABLE TO MANY.

I like the price, the size and the versatility of this lens, i use mostly outdoor, with D100, i'm satisfied with the purchase

USD 75 for a Nikon lens!

This small and light lens has a great focal range for general use. It is perfect at 18mm for those Thanksgiving table shots without fisheye effect and at 55mm is perfect for surprise portraits and getting "a little closer" to your kids at the school concert.

It takes sharp, full contrast pictures and is compatible with digital Nikon cameras' capabilities. The lens zoom controls the SB600 flash zoom for worry free party shots and outdoors sports.

At USD 75 (street), it is also cheap enough to not sweat about damaging it! In fact, after 15 years, the Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Lens has replaced my f1.4 50mm as my "leave on the camera, ready for anything" lens!

I would use this DX lens 95 percent of the time, but it is just not fast enough for low light events where flash is not permitted or desirable like gymnastics and karate meets. So I still carry my f1.4 50mm and f2.8 24mm in my camera bag.

The 52mm filter ring allows me to continue using the same filters and close up lenses I have had for years.

I recommend getting the HB 33 lens hood to enhance contrast and protect your lens. The HB 33 is a secure clip-on hood with a 52mm filter thread built in. I bought a cheap copy cat HB 33 lens hood for USD 4 plus pp. The HB 33 also “pretties up” the appearance of a very pointy looking lens, especially at full zoom. It may just be me, but I think lenses should be wider at the end instead of narrower!

Well, I didn't get that lens. I guess it was lost in orders. And as I have ordered a separate Nikon-D80 at that time, the company missed up my orders.

I bought this lens as a back up lens .I do not use it at all I am using (17-55.2.8)........................................................................................................................

the lense shows absolutly no use at all "appears new from the box!"

I bought the item for reasons:
- It was one of my first purchased on ebay
- I needed a wide angle for my camera, I thought I got a good price
- The seller was excellent in delivering the purchased item

Excellent for price range and kit lens. I did not purchase it as a kit lens added at a later date. Should have bought as kit would have been cheaper have had lens appx 8 mos has been a good little performer suprised at the clarity it achieves for the price. good party lens for the group shots

I decided to buy it because my lens broke a few days ago.
this lens works very perfect so I love it!

It's an average lens for its price. Nothin so special, but good for the average person. The zoom is not bad for daily use

This lens is great for people who want to be able to take wider pictures indoors or do basic landscapes. It's not a $1000 super-wide, no, but it does a good job. You get a little bit of zoom range, too, so you can compose your shots easily. I get consistently sharp results, and that's the really important part.

what can you say it is a Nikon Lens, it worked exactly as stated and is giving me the photos I wanted with this lens.
