Nike Slingshot Fairway Wood Golf Club

I am 55 years old and my handicap is around 18. I bought the Nike slingshot fairwood woods (with degrees 18, 21 and 24) primarily to replace the long irons. Using the 18 degrees slingshot wood, I can hit an average of 180 yards. These clubs are extremely forgiving because the sweetspot is lower and the clubhead has a wider sole. Now I dont even care to use my regular fairway woods 3 and 5. This is a must buy for golfers with a 15+ handicap.

Extremely easy club to hit off the fairway. Key value club in working any par 5 hole. No need to look for alternative hybrid club below 18 degrees this is it.

As an 19 handicap, I can easily hit this club straighter off the tee than a driver. Goes 230+ yards off the tee. Stiff standard shaft At times I never take out the driver particularly in windy conditions. Ball goes 220-225 off the fairway.

I also own an 18 degree Nike CPR club and a 24 Degree Nike CPR. WIth these three clubs you are covered from a 5 iron down to a 2 iron. Just choke up a bit on the 18 or 24 degree CPR and you are now a 3 iron distance on the 18 degree CPR or 5 iron distance on the 24 degree CPR. Gives you the latitude to carry more wedges. Or leave the 4 iron in the bag. Definately get rid of your 3 iron. Only good for thunderstorms anyways. Regards. Steve

This unit is phenomenal. The compact shape and the heavier feeling head allow this club to be easily hit. Using the same mechanics of a long iron swing, you will love how this club forgives and plays for you. I typically hit long irons, though it does take effort to get that perfect launch.

When I bought all new clubs, I thought I would get the matching hybrid a shot. This is like getting a nice 2 iron shot but getting the same result with a lot less effort. This club has a firm *thwack* (or a dead feeling at impact) more so than some hybrids I have used, but do not mistake this feeling for lack of performance. The Mitsubishi shaft (Regular Flex) is very consistent and the quality is top notch. I have had no trouble hitting this club right on the sweet spot from day one.

The only downside to the hybrids is the grips. You may want to replace the grip to meet your standards. The Nike grips, though they look nice, are not the top of the line grips out there, but they will do.

The Slingshot Hybrid come in lofts of 2 (17°), 3 (20°), 4 (23°), 5 (26°), and 6 (30°) replacing long- to mid-irons and even a 5-wood. Shaft weights are 92 grams in regular flex, 93 grams in stiff flex, and 97 grams in extra-stiff. All lofts are available in left handed versions.

If you are a fader/slicer and require generous offset this is definitely the club for you. The Slingshot's feel, versatility from a variety of lies, and solid (and solid-feel) technology make it a strong contender in the hybrid market, and I would definitely recommend picking up this club here on eBay.

If you are a golfer like me who tries really hard to break 100, this is a great club. I like the 30 degree loft. I like to use it from 170-180 yards out and it puts the ball so high in the air that it stops when it hits the green. i play at a mountain top course so running off the green is not a good idea. I have begun to chip with this club too; it is great when I want the ball to run a long way to the back of a green. It is my favorite club, I have one in each of my bags.

This little Nike hybrid club is simply outstanding! I had used a friend's a couple of times instead of a 3 or 4 iron & was convinced I had to have one. I also use it off the tee on longer par three's, or on tight fairways. I love the consisitency of shots it affords me. The club was exactly as represented, was brand new, & I am absolutely delighted with it!

First time I have actually used this type of club. If you swing with control it is a great weapon. Club head is unusally heavy, but I have enjoyed playing with it. Nike as we all know makes quality products and this is no exception.

These are the perfect hybrid club. They meld the best of all clubs into one. I have 3. The 17, 20 and 26 degree. For greater than 140 yards, I haven't met a distance that I don't use one of these for. The 17 and 20 are the same length shaft which adds consistency to my game. These are nice looking clubs and all of the engineering is visible and actually works. The power bow on the back brings off center hits back to respectable and straight. On center hits are richly rewarded as the ball seems to fly off of the face. It's quite remarkable.

I have a slower swing speed (90 mph driver) as I am much more inclined to playing in the short grass. I have both the regular steel and the regular graphite shaft in these and couldn't be happier. I usually don't like graphite in my fairway clubs, maybe it's something personal, but I can't rave enough about these clubs. I am thinking about getting the 30 degree and then I would only carry 10 or 11 clubs. If you haven't knocked your set down from 14 yet, I highly recommend it. You get to play, or learn to play different shots using the same club. It greatly expands enjoyment of the game. I play with a 7 hcp'er on occasion and his swing is the same full swing all of the time, only the club changes. Can't see the fun in that. By the way, he has a slingshot 23 degree and loves it as well.

The Nike Slingshot hybrid is, quite possibly the best hybrid I have encountered. I play all hybrids by the way. From 6 to SW are the Tour Edge Bazooka Iron Woods. I also use the Bazooka Houdini Driver. Quite possibly the best kept secret for the mid to high handicapper. I also have a Hogan CFT which I call my get out of jail free club.

Getting back to the slingshot. The grip is comfortable with nice markings for alignment purposes. You can fade and draw this club. There is no way to describe the ball springing off the face. It is remarkable. If you are interested in hybrids, I would recomment this one as the face is wider than most, giving you much more forgiveness. The sole glides nicely through light rough. I haven't need to hit out of heavy rough yet so I can't tell you about that. I swing more wood like than iron like but when I do hit it like an iron I get very favorable results as well. Sorry to ramble on but these are fantastic clubs. Nike scores a winner here.

The club is very easy to hit and it sets up nice at address. Nike has done their homework on these hybrids.

I like that the club I bought was a great price. The condition does not matter to me much, as long as it hits well. I play golf alot so it will get worn anyway.

The Hybrid club is the greatest invention in golf today. This is the 5 hybrid Slingshot by Nike. The club is easy to hit.

I decided to buy this club for several reasons; Nike makes quality equipment, I was in need of a mid-range hybrid, and the price was reasonable. While I have only played three rounds with it, I have been very impressed with the look at address of the ball, the feel, the balance, and the length and ball flight this 20 degree hybrid provides. It will likely become a go-to club for many rounds to come based on the performance thus far.

The playability and it matches a Slingshot club that I aleady own. The club I already own is my all purpose club and I use it in many different ways. I hope to use this new club in a like manner. I may even add another Slingshot model to my golf bag. The item was as advertised, excellent.

This club is great. Great feel at address. Perfect weight and is not the longest hybrid I ever hit but one of the most accurate. Hit it high, hit it low and you can swing hard or easy the shaft does not care. Again one great club and plan on buying more.

Simply the best hybrid I have ever hit... Nike has done a remarkable job catching up to the big four in golf... it shows with the Nike 4D Irons and of course Tiger as a marketing tool... Nike Slingshot Hybrid set up nice, feel great at impact, and accuracy is off the chart... I tried several other hybrids from the major companies and nothing came close... give them a try and you will get rid of all of your long irons... there is a reason why a lot of pros have switched too hybrids!!!
