Nike SasQuatch Sumo2 Driver Golf Club

The idea of a square head, engineering and high MOI are good. But does it perform. Got to the first Tee and by the time it was my turn to tee off, the club (Regular, Diamana Graphite Shaft) generated so much attention that it was at the back of the line being fondled and ooed and ahhhed. Had to wrestle the club away from an 85 year old man. Finally teed up and all was hush knowing I had better hit this driver well or else listen to 20 guys yell and heckle. Fortunately, the club struck the ball well and landed in the middle of the fairway, but not as long as my Callaway 460x. Unfortunately, the guys at the end of the line were complaining about the noise. Then I heard a voice coming over the clubhouse speaker....."Bill, Keep The Noise Down". The noise was so distracting thru 12 holes that I had to use cigarette buts in my ear to concentrate. I felt like I was playing softball all day long.
Bottom line is...... Try out several demos before you buy....you still have to hit the ball squarely on the clubface and hearing the sound of a well struck ball is great feedback. The Sumo2 is forgiving on heel and toe hits, but lacks distance. After a 18 holes and a couple of aspirins for my headache, I sold the club and stayed with my trusty Callaway 460 x. Reviewer: 64 years old, 10 handicap, bad back with a pacemaker defibrillator. Previous clubs owned and own. The 13 degree Nike SasQuatch Sumo 2 Driver hits the ball very straight. I get about the same distance as my TaylorMade R7, but much better accuracy. The new driver is a bit loud when I strike the ball, but I really like being in the middle of the fairway.

I have never hit any driver before like this one, which is so far, I could not believe it -and straight, which is more important to some. I hit before: Cobras, Callaways, Bang Golf, Titleist, you name it (Hcp 8). This one is by far the best, strongly recommended!!!!!!!!!

I love the club. I am a beginer and this is my first preimum driver. the sound is slightly louder than other clubs. But not as distracting as other reviewers have written. I dont know about distacne Because this is my first driver but I am in the fairway and about the same distance as my playing partners who have been playning for many years. I think the club has something to do with that. I would Buy the club again.

This driver, simply stated, is the best ever. No other driver that I have hit goes farther, straiter, more consistantly that this driver. With my former driver I was struggling to get to the 250 mark with any consistancy. With the Sumo2 driver, 270 yards is an easily attainable drive....and thats into the wind. I have hit this club over 300 yards the first time I played with it. It has an incredible, although slightly irritating, "explosion of sound" when you hit the ball, but the satisfaction of watching the ball scream away from you is more than worth it.

i bought the club 4 weeks ago . had tried to find lower price of new one with no success . i am still trying to get used to the club but am very pleased so far . i feel this is the way to buy clubs instead of paying the full print of buying new . would recommend same to anyone in the market for new driver or irons .

i love this driver. it.s really easy to hit. miss hits still go a long way. i took my driver out the first time at the course and was driveing par 4's. the par 4's where between 260 and 310. i let my friend hit it a couple times and he loved it just as much as i did. he said it felt like he had more control with this club. i do believe i have found my club of choice..

I hit this into a net in early 2007 and liked the sound and feel but did not want to pay the $400. I tried the new 5900 model on loan for a few rounds in 2008 and it was a very long and straight club but it had no feel. It was like hitting a corrugated box at impact with no resonance.

This club has a 10.5 degree loft with firm shaft. I really like the square head and it is easy to line up. The ball explodes off the face and has a high trajectory which I prefer. It goes relatively straight even with purposely bad swings. I can't say it is any longer than the CobraSS427 that I play but I am much more comfortable with it. If it was absolutely perfect it would feel like the Great Big Bertha on impact. I am looking forward to changing the grip to a Winn and will pick up additional yardage.

There are a lot of great clubs on the market. I am a 12 hadicapper and have a 95-104mph swing speed. If you can get this for $100-125 on Ebay you did well.

I had heard nice things about the NIKE SUMO 2 Driver, and I must say it is as advertised! Extremely nice contact with a forgiving sweet spot (thank you!) that allows for greater control. I was pretty impressed. I believe I also gained about 15-25 yds on my drive with better accuracy. Nice!

I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT AFTER A FULL SEASON OF PLAY AND SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE RANGE, I NEVER FOUND THE MAGIC IN THIS DRIVER THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN RAVING ABOUT. THE ALUMINUM BAT SOUND AT IMPACT DIDN'T BOTHER ME A BIT. IN FACT IT WAS KINDA FUN. BUT AFTER TRYING 3 DIFFERENT SHAFTS IN THIS CLUB, I STILL HAVENT FOUND ONE YET THAT ALLOWS ME TO SWING AWAY WITHOUT WORRYING WHERE THE BALL WOULD LAND. I NEVER ENJOYED THE STRAIGHT AND LONG TEE SHOTS I HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT. I ACTUALLY FOUND MY SELF EASING WAY BACK ON MY SWING TO GET ANY REAL RELIABILITY OUT OF THIS THING, AND EVEN THEN IT WAS SPOTTY AT BEST. I LOVED THE SQUARE HEAD, BUT THE OVERALL CLUB ALWAYS FELT WAY TOO LIGHT AND I NEVER GOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE FEEL OF SWINGING IT. TRIED TO GET THIS DRIVER TO BE "THE ONE", BUT ITS JUST NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

I do not play golf, but this was the second sumo drivr that I bought, the first one was a present for my grandson, but my husband loved it, so I bought (for a better price) another one from EBay. They love this Tiger Woods endorsed club.
It enables them to drive the ball much farther. It must be a good club.

I'd borrowed the Sasquatch Sumo driver from my son and loved it, so bought one just like it on Ebay.....the club is excellent. I can hit straighter and further than my previous driver allowed me to do.

This club is long, REALLY loud, and likes to go left. Even at 8.5 loft must have a hook bias. Would be a great club if it was foamed inside to quiet it down and if it were 1 degree open but if you need the bias it is a great club.

I've been using the driver (and woods) from my 1986 set of Powerbuiltz because I've had so much trouble adjusting to these new drivers. Will I tried my son's and decided that I'd give one a try but not at the retail price (around here) of $300.00. When I saw that I could get it for under $100.00 I did it. What a driver. It sounds like you are firing a shotgun and it just flies. Much truer than I've ever hit a drive. Now I'm looking to upgrade the rest of my fairway woods.

The Nike Club is an easy to swing club with good ball flight and good distance. The ball comes off the club face very straight and travels long.

This driver allows me to drive the ball straighter with ease. The only draw back would be the distance and the noise. It doesn't go quite as far as my old driver when I hit it straight, but also with my old driver i never really hit it straight. Also, the noise is a little over powering. However, I do know I hit it long and straight whenever my ears are ringing after a swing.

If you have a bad hook or slice and want solid consistent control, this club is for you. If you don't and your looking for a club to give you more distance, I would look elsewhere.

The Nike SasQuatch Sumo2 driver is a wonderful club. I was on vacation in Arizona and slipped away from the family and played 18 holes of golf at a really nice course. I rented a set of Nike golf clubs and the Sumo2 was in the bag. I had the best driving day with rental clubs. I hit practically every fairway on a very tight course. I typically struggle with my driver but this beast is easy to hit and the more you swing it, the more confidence you have to let it rip. I was putting balls out there where I've never gone before. Excellent trajectory, big bounce and nice roll. The couple of fairways I missed were just in the first cut of the rough. As soon as I got home, I bought one off eBay. I'm still bombing them. The guys I play with, noticed the difference right off the bat. It does have an unique sound but the ball flight makes up for it.
