I have hit many clubs over the last few years including a lot of the new bigger and better drivers. Every year I end up coming back to my old Nike SQ Driver. For some reason I tend to hit this club better than most. It has a lot of pop and is easy to work even with the large 460cc head. It does not set up as closed as most of the game improvement clubs (i.e. Taylormade, Callaway, Cobra). This club works great for any skill level and Nike has yet to come out with a club that can match the performance. Like most people I like to tinker and try to find a club that will give me a few extra yards. Believe me my buddies let me know it. I still enjoy taking all of their money with this gem.
I also try to keep everything in perspective. I was fitted with this club where I was not with several of the other drivers I have used outside my Cobra L4V. As always I recommend anyone to get fitted because it only takes a few minutes of your time and makes a world of difference on the course. The stock Nike shaft with this club was very weak for my swing. I was orginally going to opt for the Aldila Proto or the Diamana Blueboard. After the fitter looked at my swing and the amount of torque he fitted me with the Diamana Redboard in a stiff flex. I could have went with either of the other two shafts in an X-stiff but I wanted to maintain some flex to work the ball.
The bottomline is this is a great club especially when you can get it for around $100 on eBay. If any of you follow golf there has to be a reason this club is still used by Tiger Woods. I assume the number #1 player in the world would have switched by now if Nike had offered a better club.
