Nike Ignite 3,4 , 7 and 9 woods live in my bag!

I am a middle-aged bogie or better golfer (currently 14) with 4 Nike fairway woods in play. The 3,4 and 9wd have Fujikura reg., the 7 wood is Stiff.

This bag is 1-3-4-7-9wd, the driver is Ignite 410 9.5* on Aldila NV65 stiff or an Ignite 410 9.5* on Fujikura regular as a switch-off for tighter courses. I use them both and wouldn't part with either one but my grandson (13) borrows both.
My other bag is 1-3-5-7-9wd (Taylor R540/Titleist 975f 3 and 5 wd/Callaway Warbird 7 and 9wd.)
If you hit Ignites hard they track out hot with mid-trajectory. If you hit them harder (!!) they tend to straighten and fly a little higher, so don't count on a controlled low and running draw unless you have fast hands and play the ball back just a bit. The 7 and 9 are real high fliers: the ball plops down like a fat man to fresh Club sandwich right up by the hole!
The standard swing weight on the 3 and 4 wd feels a bit on the head-heavy side, probably having to do with the "massive" tungsten plug, so the crime is setting up too close to the ball. Getting those armpits over the balls of your feet cures that. Full swing results are superb: straight, long and with impressive pro-sounding contact!
If you were ever a fan of Titleist PT's or just like traditional shaped heads you'll get to feeling fond of the Nike Ignites: They are certainly easier to hit long than the Titleist PT's and fly higher than hard-hit Callaways.Once again, it must be that tungsten plug they stuck in there...
It's a distinctive ring and feel Ignites ALL have that lights you up. I've had a few "Tiger Shots" off the Ignite driver(280 yd w/roll), a 3wd monster at 250 yd, a towering 230 yd best with 4wd.
The 7 and 9 wds get a LOT of play on the mid to long par 3's and par 4's. They are deadly, high flying, soft landing clubs for 170 to 190 yards and as short as 155yd choked down a bit on a 3/4 swing. I'm using it them on approach 2nd shots on the 380-410 yd par 4's. I'm hitting them both more than my 4 iron off the tee and from the fairway these days because they're both REALLY EASY to hit off the thin and thick.

I would never describe Ignites as "forgiving". Either you hit the shot right or you didn't and you'll know it either way, so let's leave that "forgiveness" noise to the salespeople, OK? Especially true with the 3 wood which is an average length club unless you really catch it dead-on, in which case I think it's the best 3wood on the market!
What's to Like?
(1) Start with the prices on EBay today! They were HOW MUCH a year or 2 ago? And how many more yards do they fly and where in the center of the fairway do they land compared to the older rugbeaters? (2) Who else swung or currently swings these clubs or a reasonable facsimile on Tour these days? (does TW ring a bell? I think it's more than the $ the brand pays for tee-up money but then I have been accused of being naive once or twice. Not recently, though.)
What's Not to Like:
(1)Gotta be the World's Ugliest Headcovers. Only the sock part plays well. Come on, Phil, get some fresh talent in the art dept., OK?

Finally, I'm just getting used to that running chip from just off the green and over tall grass collars with all of these FW's. Come on, I know you play that shot, too, just like on TV. After the heft of the Warbirds these feel light and tinny in hand, but the results are starting to add up nicely now. I won't have to "iron" these shots again like in the old days!
