Nike 410 is in my bag- Long Ball Hitter for Me!
    Review created: 06/23/06(updated 09/11/06)

I'm a 14 hc. golfer, middle-aged, swing speed 115 - 121 mph. I have 3 drivers in play but the current one is the stock Nike 410, 9.5 degree with an Aldila NV65 s, as in stiff.
    # 2 is the Ignite 410 with the stock Fujikura regular flex shaft which I've had for 1 MONTH LONGER THAN THE nv65.
Through 15 rounds of play I have a carry with the Fujikura up to 255yd air time, rarely beyond, and usually a straight shot pattern. Maybe 10% will fade 25-20',a few draw maybe 15' from target when I set up for draw, but usually the result is a straight, mid to high trajectory, hot-off-the-face, slightly longer shot. Roll on both clubs varies with dew and grass length.
Through 11 rounds with the NV65s shaft the airtime is 255-265yd, the ball goes where I aim with a higher percentage of straighter shots than the Fujikura but that is about STIFF vs REGULAR flex w/my swing speed and technique. The other difference is in shot trajectory: the NV65 is slightly lower and hotter, the Fuji is higher and softer -landing, an advantage on the local tight doglegs when run-on puts you into the hay or worse.
Both are weighted well, same great sound and feel and except for a couple of "miscue" toe-hit snap hooks they've both behaved themselves.
Yeah, I've had those "Tiger Shots" on both. Wow! It's an awesome moment which I do not chase every time I step up. You gotta swing SO FAST!!

About That Draw: I have had a Taylor 540 10.5*, MAS2 55 reg. flex in my second bag through one full season and can hit 235-240 air time in the hotter more humid air in coastal Mexico. I can draw/fade/straight with that club at will, 90% called shots: smaller head! The Ignites are not that easily predictable but they are the LONGER clubs in play, without a doubt.
    Not Much to Dislike:
Big head = No draw, or so the "experts" say but lately I can draw both clubs, the Stiff better than Regular and I'm not sure why that is. There's nothing subtle about making the IGNITE draw: closed stance, 2 left knuckles up, inside take-away, in-out swing and there it is. Day in and day out they like to go
straight, though. Straight if your swing is in order, straight with no moveable weights!

Definite Dislike: Possibly the WORLDS UGLIEST HEADCOVERS! They'd make Steve Williams burst into tears. Haven't seen a single one yet on TV. Have you??

    What's to like?:
    1. Distance and accuracy on a stock shaft, regardless of all the hype about "Pro Tour endorsed" shafts like the NV and Grafalloy PL's being better. I'm a better-than-bogie golfer, not a gearhead and I think the Fujikura Regular or Stiff is a good match for this head. I have the Ignite 3,4 7 and 9 woods as well, Fujikura regular flex all, so I guess that makes me a fan, but I do like that NV shaft in my #1 Ignite, too, and you might have to stand on the crossroads like I'm doing now. Both shafts send it far!
My other bag has Titleist 975F 3 and 5 wd on stiff graphite, 7 and 9 Callaway Warbirds on firm, too. Different grass, weather, they work on Burmuda with different flights than the Ignite set as you might already know.
    2. Bargain $ on new 410's ,$60 - $90 used 8-9/10 condition on E BAY, an excellent buy if you don't want anything to do with 460 cc heads. Great looking club, traditional shape a little on the chubby side. My playing partners of the day don't seem to notice it's a Nike, or care, for that matter, unless they're Nike fans, too. It's not the clubs that are supposed to impress anyone, it's the GAME you BRING.

Nike Ignite 410 Aldila NV 65 Stiff
    Review created: 04/27/06

I love this driver! It is long and accurate. I have played drivers from ping, taylormade, callaway, titleist, and nike all within the last 2 years. The Nike Ignite is by FAR the best of all of them. I have heard and agree with many people the the stock shaft (Fujikura) is not very good. Aldlia makes a great shaft, so spend a little more money and go for the upgrade. You will not be dissapointed with this driver.
