Nike Forged Blades Past and Present

As with the purchase of any clubs, you tend to go with what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye at address, and then you hope like hell it performs well. Nike Forged Blades, whether the brand new Victory Reds or the model prior to that, will definitely pass the first test. They are without a doubt, one of the best looking set of forged irons on the market. Performance, on the other hand, comes down to a number of variables that are often hard to define. What works for one golfer may not necessarily work for another. Having previously played with the Hogan Apex forged iron, I was looking for a blade with a softer metal that wouldn't sacrifice distance or workability. I didn't find this with my recent purchase of Nike blades. Unfortunately for me, the previous owner had gotten about all the use those clubs had in them. Not only were they dull looking, they didn't feel right. So, I promptly sold them at a loss, and kept playing with the Hogans. I was about to label the Nike blades overrated until I had the recent opportunity to hit the Victory Reds with a lighter yet stiff shaft and fell in love with the clubs again! Lesson learned, play with what catches your eye, and hit with them until you develop a comfort level. Then, after trial and error, make a decision and stick with it.
