Nightmare Worlds - 50 Movie Pack (DVD, 2006, 12-Disc Set)

If you like old movies, this bundle is for you. 50 titles of old horror/sci-fi movies from the 30's to the 90's. If you're like me, you'll love these classic movies from the early years of film. From flying turtles to Flash Gordon's early years you're in for a treat. The price is a bargain as well. I paid about a quarter a movie. Where else could you get a value such as this for great flicks. If you're into the films of yesteryear, this pick is for you.

I like cheesy movies. My faves are MST3K's. I bought these because I thought they would be fun to make fun of and they do not dissapoint. If you want some flashbacks to the 70's, or love dubbed Japanese movies, this item is for you. If you enjoy films that are short on plot and cohesiveness, this is just what you are looking for. Many a time I have yelled at the screen at the conclusion of a feature, "That's not a movie!" I am really enjoying them!

I bought the Nightmare worlds DVD set for my wife for Christmas as she is a Sci Fi nut. She seems to like it.

I loved all the different old movies. I haave always liked the old and scary movies since I was a kid. My brother and I always watched them together.

OK, NOT EXACTLY WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. WATCHED MOST OF THEM VERY SLOW. ALOT I NEVER SAW. RESOLD AS ALOT OF THEM HAD POOR QUALITY IN THE REMAKE TO DVD'S.

WARNING: I haven't watched enough to review it comprehensively, but I will say this much; I bought it for Alien Contamination, AND IT WAS EDITED BY 7 MINUTES TO GET AN (R) RATING! ARRGH!!! What's the f*@%ing point of doing that?!?!?!?!

That said, there are some interesting older ones on here that you won't find outside of these bargain boxes, like House of the Living Dead, sort of a South African take on Hammer's period horror films.

Not sure how many of the others are cut though, so completists beware.

I love these type of movies, but these are the worst of the worst. Very cheesy. Also the quality leaves alot to be desired. I am a huge movie buff and was hoping to add alot of movies to my collection, but I have only watched 3 or 4 of the movies so far, and of those I have only watched 2 to the very end. Not very exciting. Save your money and buy better movies, such as "The Crawling Eye".

Like other boxed sets from Mill Creek this one does not dissappoint. Yes, there are a few lemons in the bunch but even they are good for providing a few laughs. Each dvd has its own cardboard slipcase with a description of the films plot and when it was made etc. I really like these boxes of "old" movies especially for the price.

The problem I had with this purchase had nothing to do with the item itself, or the delivery or the cost. Instead the problem involved the method of payment. Like most users of PayPal I fell a need to be cautious with my PayPal password. In all my previous transactions, I was taken by ebay to PayPal. Inputting my password in such a situation is, I believe, quite safe.

In this transaction it was not possible to do that. Instead I got an email which asked for my password. This seemed very untrustworthy to me and I tried to cancel the order. Subsequently when the seller complained to ebay, I was able to complete the order in a way that involved ebay enough for me to fell safe.

If, however, this kind of thing happens to me again, I’ll have to stop using ebay. Please do not write back to me saying that this transaction was perfectly safe. The way it was set up, I had no way of knowing that and had to proceed on the assumption that it was not.

I loved most of these movies - mainly for showing what was available for the times they were made.
You cannot compare them to todays box office hits.
Watching these movies is like a step back in time.
They bring up old memories of what the movies were like before today's special effects.
It is great to see these old timers - and brings a smile to the face.
Watching these oldies allow one to see how it was done in the "old days".

I purchased this for my mother for Mother's Day and she loved it. She is into these kind of movies, and has watched it several times. She called me, and asked if I could get her more. I give it a 10 out of 10 because she's a movie expert, and that's what she rated it. I highly recommend to anyone who like's the old movies.
