A Nightmare on Elm Street (DVD, 1999)

Nightmare on Elm Street to this day still freaks me out! Great special effects and an introduction to Freddy. Freddy is very badly burned, has knives on one head, oh and did I meantion he is dead! When you sleep Freddy comes and if you don't wake up, chances are you are going to die. Makes you not want to sleep! Also a young Johnny Depp plays in this movie (that is always an added bonus). If you are up to getting scared, this is a great movie to watch!

From modern horror master Wes craven (Scream, Scream 2 ) come a timeless Shocker that remains the standard bearer for terror.

Definatly one of the very best horror classics. Did a great job as far as the storyline. Was very suspensful.

I got this dvd not so much for its content ( all tho it is the best one of the series, in my opinion, but for helping to complete my collection of Depp dvds. This seller was great because the original box had some of the prongs that hold the movie in place broken so he sent the original box w/ the defects and also sent the dvd in great condition in a seperate clear dvd case.

this is the first freddy movie, gurenteed to take you for a ride this film is the freshman effort by wes craven (writer/director. with many sequils and spin offs, all classics on there own, this fild is the one that started it all the Nightmares. Total classic and what better way to relive your childhood horrors than special edition style with lots of bonus content and remastered picture and sound!!! Awsum purly awsum!!!

Great item and just as describbed. The shipping had a little something to be desired. The DVD that I purchased was "Night Mare on Elm Street" the quality of the envelope and the case and the DVD itself was really good. It even had some of the original tape from the shrink wrap on it. It was a great purchase.

The immortal horror clasic from director wes craven is just as scary today as it was in 1984 Freddy Krueger is the ultimate bad guy and his prescene in the film is terrifying this elm street is the best of all of them and is only rivaled by dream warriors part III

The reason I bought this movie was to add to my collection of Horror movies. This was a really good movie, made you think about not wanting to go to sleep at night and dream of being haunted by someone like Freddy Kruger.

This movie was ok..They got carried away making them but my kids enjoy watching them..Freddy the child murderer and comes ands takes revende on his captures kids in their dreams..

This one of the best horror-slasher movies ever made that gave birth to a horror icon: Freddy Krueger. This movie is creepy in several ways such as the music and the special effects, which I consider very good for its time. I recommend this movie to horror fans and mandatory to all Nightmare on Elm St. fans.

The movie is a good one. Its a classic you cant have a horror collection of movies without Nightmare on elm street.

Sure it looks a little dated but I dare you to watch it at night by yourself and not feel a bit scared. Freddy was once a perfect monster before he became somewhat of a joke in society and part one was the only one to portray him as such. I still love this movie and it's still scary.

It's difficult to find the old Horror Classics at my small hometown video store.
I bought this for really cheap, the DVD worked perfectly, and the movie met all expectations for a classic slasher film. Regardless of your movie preference, there is a reason this movie is considered a classic and is a "must see" for those who wish to be entertained. I won't promise you'll be scared but definitely amused.

This movie is one of the best horror films period,and absolutley the best of the Elm street series.Freddy Krueger is evil and completley out for blood.This was before character became a lame killer who spouted one liners.Wes Craven's direction is spot on.Craven has always had a knack for original ideas,and this is one of his best.Buy this movie if you want a frightening good time.

I bought this movie because it was the first movie johnny depp was in and i love anything johnny depp. I also love horror movies.

I actually saw this movie when it was first released and I loved it from the start..to make things simple I'll reveiw the entire Nightmare series..The tagline is right "whatever you do don't fall asleep" this movie gave me nightmares, but as I grew older I came to appreciate the quality of the film not the scare factor. Now I prefer movies like the Grudge but Freddy still rocks..Part one was the best, here you are introduced to sweet kids they do cuss too much and the sex is in your face (actually in just one scene), but that doesn't last too long. Part two well it was awful..the acting was terrible that could be because the script sucked and so did the storyline..part three made up for it they brought back my favorite Character Nancy Thompson and the Actress who made her famous Heather Langenkamp..the story line was great, the acting was perfect only problem I had was Kristens constant screaming she gave me a headache! Part 4 was right on target too..they brought in a new actress to play Kristen..Tuesday Knight (I just love that name) she also sings, the opening song is sung by her! Her boyfriend is cute, sweet and silly I liked him from the start...the storyline was as good as the storyline in one and 3 we get to see a new character grow from a shy repressed teenager to a confident young woman who fights back..part five dealt with a whole new slew of victims..some characters were not my favorite..Debbie was a waste of time..the actress playing her was great, but the character was waay too over the top! Again the storyline was great..this movie series has a bad habit of making you like the characters then killing them off! part 6 dealt more with Freddys origins we find out more about the sicko who preys on children, this one was suppose to be the final nightmare, but the fans kicked so they made yet another film part 7 brought back Heather in a very unique way I wont spoil it, but suffice it to say this is another favorite of mine! Heather is great the little boy playing her son is cute engaging and very smart for his age! The final nightmare movie brings together two cinema horror legends Freddy (of course) and Jason Vorhees from the "Friday The 13th" series..I wasn't sure about this idea, but it does work.. my only problem was with how they downsized Jason (he's a big Man uh monster) so Freddy (who has a smaller skinnier frame) would be an even match..I believe that took away from the excitement of the fight scenes..even with that this movie is still fun to watch..the script was very unique the characters were engaging and the thrills and chills were still there..again this one is very gory lots of blood and guts so put the kiddies to bed before turning on this one! Do yourself a favour start with the first nightmare then work your way down the list..you can skip part two if you want to it's not really inline with the series anyway, but if you feel compelled to watch it anyway..keep in mind I warned you..the only good scene is the bus scene at the beginning..but after that it gets corny..the screams are forced, part two is just not a good movie!! But Elm Street 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are do not miss flicks! So pop the popcorn, grab the sodas, munch on the chips and candy better yet, order a pizza and enjoy!!
