Publisher's Note Beverly Oliver stood across the street from Abraham Zapruder and, like him, filmed the assassination. The following Monday Beverly's film was confiscated by the FBI. Beverly, a featured singer at the Colony Club, located next door to Jack Ruby's Carousel Club, was a good friend of Ruby and traveled with him on several out-of-town trips. They were together the night before the assassination at a party at the Cabana Hotel and then dinner at Campisi's Egyptian Lounge. Beverly spent considerable time at the Carousel Club prior to the assassination and witnessed many of the strange comings and goings of people linked to the conspiracy. Shortly before the assassination, Ruby introduced Beverly to his "friend from the CIA", Lee Harvey Oswald. Beverly also met and conversed with David Ferrie, who many believe to be one of the masterminds in planning the "crossfire" in Dealey Plaza. Beverly had been coined "the Babushka Lady", due to the inability of anyone to identify her and the scarf she wore around her head at the assassination. It is a story that, for years, many assassinologists have wanted to hear in its entirety. This is only the second book to be written by an eyewitness to the assassination. Beverly Oliver is not a researcher, but one who actually lived the story and personally knew many of the key players. Within minutes after the assassination, Beverly saw Roscoe White near the picket fence. At that time White was employed by the Dallas Police Department, and is suspected of being an assassin who fired from behind the picket fence on the grassy knoll. Beverly is the only witness who can place White near the crime scene within minutes after the assassination. Beverly met and marriedGeorge McGann, a Dallas gambler who was the reputed leader and hit-man of the Dixie Mafia. Beverly witnessed, first-hand, one of McGann's ruthless murders. McGann, himself, later was murdered. Beverly participated in the second adult-infant kidney transplant in medical history, during which time she discovered that the death of her previous child was the result of a genetic disorder, not because of a threat made warning her to keep quiet prior to testifying before the House Select Committee on Assassinations.
Factual account of Beverly Oliver who witnessed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
