Synopsis This is the 29th mystery concerning the Detective without a Name (well, actually he has a first name now--it's Bill) and his San Francisco agency, now staffed with two partners, Jake Runyon and Tamara Corbin. Staking out a deadbeat dad, Tamara witnesses evidence of another crime, and becomes the victim of one herself. Meanwhile, Jake tracks down two gay-bashers responsible for an attack on the lover of Jake's estranged son, and Nameless deals with a dying pulp writer's curious and difficult legacy.
