Night and Day (DVD, 2004)

Loved the movie. As a fan a Cole Porter's music I've enjoyed exploring his musicals. Night and Day is a look at Cole Porter's life and career. Had I known this before watching, I might've expected an older version of Delovely (a newer biographical musical with pop star cameos). I was reluctant enough to have the benefit of the doubt and I was really pleased with the movie. Lots of familiar songs and dancing will bring enjoyment to any fans of musicals or Cole Porter.

If you like this movie, do yourself a favor and watch Kiss Me Kate and Silk Stockings.

First of all it was a typical white-washed HOLLYWOOD (OLD Hollywood) version of COLE PORTER'S LIFE - FOR a really GREAT movie about COLE I recommend DE-LOVELY with KEVIN KLINE AND ASHLEY JUDD - AWESOME - and super singers singing his great songs. In the old version - CARY GRANT is good but ALWAYS WISTFUL and FAR AWAY - THAT is because he's thinking of GUYS instead of his long-suffering wife! BUT fun to COMPARE - but no comparison to the NEW VERSION! GREAT SELLER from whom I bought this however!

This has been one of my favorite movies and I was delighted to find it on DVD for such a great price. I've always loved the music of Cole Porter and the numbers in here are great. My favorite production number is Begin The Beguine and I can watch it over and over again. I also never tire of Cary Grant. This is a classic Hollywood,feel good movie not to be compared with the new version,Delovely.
