Night Stalker: The Complete Series (DVD, 2006)

This 're-imagining' of the show Kolchak, The Night Stalker just never really found it's audience. I think if it had been given more time to spread its wings, the show could have easily picked up a cult following like the one a show like Alias enjoys. Alas, ABC's scheduling and lack of promotion made this a non-issue.

This series had a much darker edge than the previous incarnations. Kolchak is a murder suspect, and possibly a person who is predestined to be evil. Not your everyday hero to be sure. That's where this show was great. You cared about him despite these things, and you never really believed that he wouldn't prove to be a good guy in the end. The supporting characters all did a great job in their roles, and the writing was pretty much top-notch. The week to week stories we eerie and interesting, and the overall mythology was shaping up to be very interesting and complex. Of course, the show was cancelled just as it was hitting its stride, so we'll never know how great it could have been.

As great as Mcgavin'c series if not a bit better, It's a shame that this one was cancelled during it's prime it would/should have gone as long as the x-file series...

I WANTED TO SEE ALL THE TV SHOWS THAT WERE NOT SHOWN AND SEE IF THE SHOW WAS GOOD AND THE SHOWS GOT BETTER AND IF IT WAS SHOWN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BACK FOR SEASON TWO IT STARTED SLOW BUT ENDED GOOD

I LOVED THE SERIES AND WAS SORRY TO SEE IT TAKEN OFF TELEVISION. THE SERIES HAD INTERESTING PLOTS AND YOU WANT TO STAY WITH THEM TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS - AND NOT ALWAYS THE EXPECTED. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE DVD WAS THE SAME WITH THE TV - SOME SCENES WERE VERY DARK AND HARD TO SEE. AFTER WATCHING THE DVD I REMEMBERED I THOUGHT THE SAME WITH THE TV SERIES. THE SHOWS WERE EXCELLENT BUT THE DARK PARTS LED ME TO RATE AS GOOD

I totally enjoyed this show. I'm sorry it didn't have a longer life on TV. The lead characters were well cast and the stories interesting. Very entertaining and worth the time to watch.

I loved this series it is to bad that other viewers did not share the same inthusiasme.The DVD came in mint condition & I was very satisfied & as always EBAY is the best.

Fans expecting their beloved "Kolchak" will be brokenhearted at the new interpretation of the charactor however the series itself is an intriguing homage to everything to "Wolfen" to classic "Night Stalker" episodes. It's a very well crafted series that should have been given time to grow.

while not in the same league as other shows of this genre,it still pretty good. The old Darren McGavin series was tounge in cheek,while this one is darker and serious. Xfiles fans would embrace these episodes.

It is an interesting show.Very unique but Discs are lacking in the Extra's
dept.Completely different from the original Dan Curtis series with Darren McGavin.If you like Supernatural Thrillers with an off beat feel,then this
is the show for you.

This is one show that never lived up to it's potential. The show was far too dark, both in story line and background lighting quality. At first I thought that it had been filmed on an older video tape formant, used by the cheaper studios. The series follows an entirely diverse story line, than the orginial series name would allow. The character of Kolchak became the central theme in the show. It was his problems, his demons, what killed his wife, was he going to turn into a monster. The orginal series worked because we got to see how Karl Kolchak reacted to the exterior stimulus of the monster of the week. We got to grow to love the orginial Kolchak, while I could never seem to be able to connect with this series central character. I bought this dvd set only to fill a spot in my collection.

This was an interesting series based on The Character of Carl Kolchack from the Night Stalker series from 1974-1975. I wish that the series had one full year of episodes and I think that the show would have built up viewers watching it each week. There were some similar characters from both the tv movies and tv show and The 2006 updated tv series was good and you would have to watch this a couple of times to get a full understanding of the series.

This remake ripped off the title and names of the original series, it had absolutely nothing to do with the original. I watched the two hour pilot episode waiting for something good to happen, it did, it went off and later got canned. I wonder if Bugs Bunny girl got another job?

I watched the original Nightstalker series. I loved all the strange characters he encounter. I also enjoyed Darrin McGavin. The newer series has lots of strange characters too. However, there is more positive interaction between the characters. I love Stuart Townsend! He gives the character more poise and dignity. Townsend is also VERY pleasant to watch. I would recommend this to ANYONE who likes mysteries. This is not a "girly" series.

An excellent series with great stories and acting, produced by the same people that made the X files, this series never had a chance due to low ratings on the network, too bad though It could've been worth it.

LOVE IT I have been trying to get this for a while but could never find it at any stores or clubs. The only others were from Japan but I don't buy from other countries on E-BAY as there are to many problems i'v found with that. So I was very happy to get it. Also since it was in wonderful condition and plays great.

the acting was very good and the storylines were even better. my reason for buying it was because I liked the show alot and since it was cancelled I wanted to have the season for myself.

I decided to buy the Night Stalker DVD because I grew up watching the original with my Dad. The first thing I loved about this one is that it is the complete series(not just the season) at an unbelievable price. I was a little nervous about ordering a DVD from Ebay but the quality is first rate. There is no way I could have found a better value. I am extremely pleased

This movie makes you want to see more, but to bad that their we're only one season, other than that; I love this series.

i bought this because i loved the show and wanted to watch it again since it has been cancelled. stuart townsend is an excellent actor.
