A Night at Red Rocks by Moody Blues (The) (CD, Mar-1993, Polydor USA)

The purpose for this purchase was to replace my Moody Blues CD I thought I had lost. If I had not liked the music I would not have replaced it. The music by the Moody Blues on this CD is some of the better recordings made before the 1992 (or was it '93?)Red Rocks concert. While it was recorded live at Red Rocks it is not overwhelmed with applause before or after each song. Many times when a concert is recorded the applause and audience noise is left in, perhaps to annoy the listener. The music, for me, is nostalgic. Many of the songs bring back memories of my misspent youth and the romance of it all. It is the only CD of the Moody Blues I own because I prefer this mix of music and appreciate the richness the Colorado Symphony brings to the total performance. I was quite unhappy when I thought I had lost my CD. I didn't even mess around with looking for it at stores, I went straight to eBay. I replaced it so quickly I hardly missed having lost it. The fact I wanted to replace it immediately should speak volumes about its value as an icon of pop culture. Of course, this is only my opinion and not a very coherent one at that. Incidentally, I found my original CD!

I was searching for this beautiful music and was very happy with the quality and condition of the CD.

I used to have this on a cassette form, but no longer have a casette player, so I was looking for the cd.. I found it on ebay and bid ,and won.. it was delivered fast, and securely and I couldn't be happier.. good music, great sellers transaction... I am very happy

Recorded live at Denver's famed outdoor venue, Red Rocks on September 9. 1992. Sound quality here is pretty good and all - the Moody Blues gems are present like the timeless "Tuesday Afternoon", the '80's Mtv hit "I Know You're Out There Somewhere", "The Other Side Of Life", "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)", the FM radio favorite "Question" and my personal favorite "Ride My See Saw". Only pet peeve I have about this CD is that it has a brief segment of silence between each song. Why do record companies do that when a title's ENTIRE show comes from the same gig? Other than that, 'A Night At Red Rocks' is fine.

THANK YOU FOR THE CD!I sincerely apologize for the trouble I caused regarding this-I'm not normally this absent minded-have had a lot going on and forgot to notify anyone that I had won the cd-so please don't be angry with my mother-it's not her fault-it's mine and I take full responsibility for what happened. My grandmother passed at the beginning of May and we've just had a lot going on. Normally I'm always on the ball anytime I bid on anything. So again I do apologize for all the trouble. I GAVE THIS AN AVERAGE RATING, BECAUSE THE SOUNDTRACK SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE THE DVD.ON THE CD VOCALS AND ORCHESTRA DO NOT SOUND IN SINK. I BOUGHT THE CD BECAUSE LOVE THE DVD AND I WANTED TO LISTEN TO THE SAME MUSIC IN THE CAR.

Having heard this concert live, well....all I can say is THIS IS THE NEXT BEST THING!!!! Any concert at RED ROCKS is an incredible experience....This show with the CSO was an experience I never imagined myself to have!!
