Night at the Museum (Blu-ray Disc, 2009, Movie Cash)

This is definitely a FAMILY MOVIE meaning that kids will probably like it and adults will probably be bored with it- I know that after the first 20 minutes or so my husband and I both were... Ben Stiller plays a divorced, unemployed father who desperately wants to earn the respect of his 10 year old son and just cannot seem to compete with his ex-wife's new husband. He accepts a job at the museum of natural history as a night guard and quickly realizes that the job entails more than he bargained for. All the displays in the museum come to life after midnight, which is problematic as not all of the displays cohabitate well together (i.e. the cowboys and Indians fight, the wild animals are dangerous and so forth). Stiller is desperate to keep the job because he wants to show his son that he is capable of following through. Therefore, he attempts to devise a plan to help all the displays live peacefully together. Robin Williams, one of the museum's displays, serves as the voice of reason throughout Stiller's nightime tribulations and gives him inside advice about the basic needs of each of the museum displays.

In short, an interesting concept (a museum coming to life), good special effects, okay acting, fun for the kids but not quite enough wit to equally entertain the parents. This lack of "wit" is probably what makes it a good FAMILY MOVIE, as what entertains adults the most are things that are probably not appropriate for children anyway... Recognize it for what it is... watch it with the kids and watch them have a good time... that's really what it's all about anyway...

I love the quality of blu-ray movies, especially scary movies. I decided to purchase this particular movie on blu-ray just because I knew that it would be as if the animals was coming out at you. My kids love it! All around GREAT MOVIE!!!

Saw this movie at the theater but the blue ray version is every bit as good. Great movie to view on your HD TV in Blue Ray. A movie classic for everyone to watch from young to old!

Ben Stiller has a joyful time in a living museum. It a film for the entire family and bring youth back into mature audiences.

just picked up a ps3 and want to build up my blueray collection, movie is worth seeing. Blueray is a huge step up HDMI is amaizing makes you feel like your in the movie love it a lot. it is all I watch well tat and HD DVD, if you dont have these yet you should get one or the other right now, for real leave your house and get it now ps3 is only 499

Excellent clarity! I have my PS3 hooked up to a 65" DLP Mittsubishi with the DVI cord..... and can you get any clearer??!!! The colors are excellent and the picture is awesome..... Love how crystal clear this movie is on Blu-ray!

Another great Ben Stiller movie. Fantastic idea. Turned out to be a better movie (since it's not just 1 night in the museum) than I had hoped. The camera angles are perfect and add even more humor to the already hilarious situations. Ben Stiller definitely delivers in this movie! Fun/safe for the entire family, as well. I can see myself watching this quite a few times...

Night at the Museum is a movie about unemployed Larry (Ben Stiller) and him desperately wanting the respect of his 10 year-old son. Larry takes a job at the Museum of Natural History to try to gain some stability and keep a place close to his son. When Larry decides he finally wants to make this job stick, he uses clever and interesting ways to keep the peace and destruction down to a minimum. The “advice ridden” and responsible presence of Robin Williams was great. Robin was toned down and believably smitten with Sacagawea. The film is filled with excellent CGI museum displays running amuck and wandering the halls. There was so much to see I’m sure the family will enjoy this movie much more upon DVD re-viewing. In the theater, my 6 year-old son cheered aloud when he saw Owen Wilson (Shanghi Knights, Shanghi Noon, Cars) as a cowboy with his feelings on his sleeve. With him was Steve Coogan (Around the World in 80 Days) and also present briefly is Paul Rudd (Clueless). I have to admit that the presence of an actor named Ricky Gervais as the Museum director seemed to have a “cameo feel” I just didn’t get. He received way too much screen time and attention, especially for someone I had no idea who he was, coupled with the fact that he was totally unfunny and a bad actor to boot… well, it was painful to watch. The three old guys playing the former security guards were just that, the director could have saved some money and cast just one, although hearing Micky Rooney (The Black Stallion) calling Ben Stiller “butterscotch” was pretty funny. I missed the chemistry between Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller present in their other movies (Zoolander, Meet the Parents), probably due to the fact that because of the special effects, neither really shared screen time. Owen and Steve did sneak in some funny references to other movies that the kids definitely won’t (probably for the best, shouldn’t) catch. Don’t forget this is a FAMILY film and you will like this movie.

Natural history lesson and the kids are entertained too, whats not to love. Did I mention that this is a Ben Stiller movie! Family entertainment at its best!

Thought the movie was very good. Especially at Halloween. We had decided to buy it because the salesman that sold us the Blue-ray player said that this was one of the best movies in Blue-ray.

I think it is fun for kids and is enjoyable for the entire family. The actors were well chosen and did a great job. I don't know how historically accurate it is, but it's for fun.

this was a great movie selection very pleasent transaction with seller. the item came very quickly and had been veiwed previously but you could not tell. the movie is exciting and funny can't wait till part 2 comes out on blue ray to add to the collection for my son.

I liked everything about it. I was quite surprised how good the quality of this movie was considering the price. I decided to buy it for the price. Most blu ray discs are $30 to $40. I will have no problem buying again from this company.

I thought this movie would mostly be for kids, but I think I laughed as much if not more than the younger folks around me. The plot is neat, and Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Robin Williams deliver the goods. It was also a treat to see Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney in action again. It's nice to watch a good film for the whole family once every so often. It makes you feel like a kid again, without a care in the world.

This movie has something for everyone, from the youngest kid to the oldest adult. Decent story, plenty of action and fun twists on various historical figures and events. Well worth the purchase of the standard DVD - putting it in blu-ray format made it that much better.

Great movie with a good new twist on an old plot. Very enjoyable. Ben Stiller and the rest of the crew kept us in stitches. ...and as a departure from the norm Robin Williams wasn't totally out of control.

Ben stiller is comically amazing. The visual are excellent and the idea is original.. Buy it, Watch it and you will never regret it your money will be well- invested.

"Night at the Museum" is a great movie for all ages. It's fun, entertaining, and keeps you guessing. This movie has a good assortment of suspense and laughter. Language is something you don't need to worry about in this movie. Very little curse words. Recommend for all ages.
