Very well put together 40th anniversary DVD with tons of extras and commentaries. Including a documentary of the making of the film. The picture quality and sound will truly impress fans who have had to watch low quality copies that have been circulating for years. This is A true horror classic that everyone should see. For maximum effect, defiantly watch this one alone at night.

Definitely the definitive DVD transfer on this film. Extremely sharp with good over all black & white tones. Sound is superb. You can forget all of the other DVD's out there for sale, none can stand up to this quality !!

If you don't own NOTLD on DVD, then this disc is a good place to start. The new transfer looks excellent on SD, although if you upconvert be prepared for a lot of grain and noise (a better upconversion can be found with Elite's Millenium edition. The latter contains most if not all of the material on the more recent disc; the 40th anniversary edition also contains some new documentaries.
What's on the new disc is terrific, I just caution you about the upconversion.

Seven people are attacked by zombies when trapped in a farmhouse and
fight to stay alive. George Romero's 1968 classic is one of the best
horror films. It definitely paved the way for zombie horror flicks
and George Romero is the master. I'm so glad I bought this anniversary
dvd. The picture and sound are amazing, it's got plenty of extras and
I like the cover art. I recommend this dvd because it's the best release
of the film and if you're a fan of horror, I'd pick this up.

William Hinzman, who appeared as the Cemetery Zombie at the beginning of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, also served as cinematographer on Romero's THE CRAZIES.
