Nicolae by Jerry B. Jenkins, Tim Lahaye (1997, Hardcover)

Excellent seller. Wanted the series in hard cover. Have read and enjoyed the series before. As a Christian I have used these books to inspire people to come to know Jeasus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour. Doctronally they are off in several places, but the plan of salvation is right on throughout the series.

The Left Behind series is a set of twelve volumes fictionalizing the Book of Revelation from the Bible. Revelation is a difficult book for the average person to read and understand. Its prophecies are presented in direct and in metaphoric language. The Left Behind series brings God's warnings contained in Revelation alive. The Nicolae volume is titled "The Rise of Antichrist Nicolae." It describes the takeover of the world in the advancement of "peace and a better world" by Nicolae Carpathia. He is a charismatic politician that wins the support of all through the United Nations. A small band of Christians calling themselves the "Tribulation Force" resists him as he shows himself to be a murderer intent on enslaving the world. While the book has a good prologue summarizing the prior two books "Left Behind" and "The Tribulation Force" it is best read with the series. It is a great series. Get it.

I especially liked the continued character definition and development. My experience with each book of the series is that there is a discernible steady build up to a climax that might not be exactly what I expected, especially from characters I might not have been sure about.
Whether or not one subscribes to the theology presented, I can say for myself that this fictional approach to the story of Revelation makes me want to tackle that book again and learn more about the final book of the Bible, and engage in discussion.
There is a movie style, or screenplay-ish feel to the pacing and editing of the jumps between character lines. At times a bit too obvious, but in general the pacing of the juggling of separate threads is good.
From book one to book five I have not wanted to put the books down until I finish. Eagerly awaiting book six in my mailbox.

Would recommend this series to anyone. Great set of books. Now my collection is complete. Just makes you think of what is happening in this world today.

Loved the whole series! I am now collecting all the books. This series took action and religion,together with morality for one exciting series.

The book was very interesting, covering many things that I was unsure about. Very well written and kept my interest throughout the whole book. I highly recommend it.
