Movie Description
With her deep, velvety voice and exotically statuesque presence, German model/ rock singer Nico became an icon of the 1960's. Part of Andy Warhol's Factory crowd and a frequent singer for proto-punk New York band The Velvet Underground, Nico followed a familiar pattern of the era by being at once a gorgeous superstar and a degenerating heroine junkie. This release features two live performance videos which star Nico -- HEROINE and AN UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE. The first contains an emotional performance of acoustic songs at the Library Theatre in Manchester; the latter is footage of a 1980's punk gig at an underground venue. Shot in grainy video, the visual aesthetic enhances the rough and raw attitude of Nico and the punk rock that she performs.
