Nicktoons: Battle For Volcano Island (Game Boy Advance, 2006)

As an adult who tests out games for my nephews. I was skeptical about buying this game because I had bought Spongebob Yellow Avenger for the Nintendo DS and it was okay. I can't give a full review on The Yellow Avenger because I only played with it for about 10 min before I quit. However when I started playing with Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island, I was immediately hooked! It's a great simple game for not too young kids. (5 & up)

You start with Spongebob and you explore vast areas of Volcano Island going through the stages collecting hearts & items. Once you've reached the end of the stage, you collect another character, Danny Phantom, then finish that level, get Timmy Turner then Patrick. You get to unlock bonus levels. Each character has it's own special powers that helps you get pass certain obstacles.

This game keeps you going. It's hard to put it down! I'm glad I didn't waste my money on this one. It's worth buying for almost all ages. I got to level 4 and it is a bit hard. I haven't beat this game yet and I am having fun trying to get to the end of this game. Yes this game has a save mode where it saves where you left off which is great!

Loads of fun!!

Update: 11/28/06 - I finally beat the game!!! It wasn't easy to beat some levels. YOu got to get 115 points (or hearts) to finish the game. There are 2 levels that seem impossible but it can be done with practice. My 6 yr old nephew is still trying to beat the game and has asked me to complete a level for him. It can be hard for a 6 yr old but he has alot of fun with it though.

I bought this game for my children, who are 8,9,and 12 respectively. Unfortunately, my 36 year old (husband), likes it as much as the kids do!! So, I bought another one just to help lessen the fighting.. They spend hours playing this game! The graphics are really good (what I have got to see of it).. and my kids don't complain much (so that means its kids friendly)..

It is fun, clean, not really violent, and gives me a priceless gift, PEACE!! lol.. anyway, would highly reccomend .. PS>> I have boys and girls.. so great for either..
