Automatically change images on your phone screen with the Wallpaper Randomizer feature. VibraCall notifies you of incoming phone calls, Nextel Direct Connect calls, messages and Voice Mail without a sound. Use the private speaker button to switch from the external speaker to the earpiece for private conversations or to minimize disruptions in quiet environments. Set your phone and instantly connect to the last Direct Connect call or an assigned Direct Connect contact by pressing the PTT button (also works for Group Connect). At the time, the i830 was a big step up for Nextel and still holds the title as their smallest phone available. Let me start with the design. The buttons are a fine size but I feel that the keypad is a little on the small side. It is sometimes hard to navigate the phone, especially in the dark. It has external volume control, like other Nextel phones. I find this very useful. Located next to that is the PTT button. The speaker is located on the back of the phone. It has good quality and can attain a high volume. I have no real problems with the phone except for the battery life. The battery runs out extremely fast since the phone is on the small side. So, you are losing something when going to this smaller size. Another problem is that since this phone is discontinued, you will have a hard time finding bigger capacity batteries. That is, if you ever considered upgrading your battery life. So, overall I think this phone is average. There really isn't anything special about it except for the fact that it is Nextel's smallest phone. If thats what you want, then buy it. Otherwise, I would recommend a phone with more features like mp3, pics, vid, like the i870. I hope you learned something new from my review. :) Review ID: 10000000001630364 Was this review helpful? I love how the phone is designed and what is on it. It is great the fact that it has all the ringtones, games and wallpapers one it. Good comuncation and very quick shipment.
