The Next Tetris (PlayStation, 1999)

We've searched high and low for The Next Tetris. My husband "owned" the game, loaned it to somone, and it was never returned. He has tried others, namely, Tetris Worlds, and was not impressed. He mentioned his desire to find the game again, and we found it on ebay. This is an "excellent" game and we were happy to find it again.

A great puzzle game with a slight spin on the classic Tetris of old. This game provides timeless fun that can be solo or with a friend. This is yet another game that is difficult to find outside of ebay.

To me, Tetris is not fun. However, the Next Tetris is an entirely different experience. There is a "feel" to this game. The wobbling blocks, the music, the breakaway blocks and excellent controls make this the only PS1 game that I continue to play consistently. After the game loads, you can remove the game disc and play your own CD. You control the volume and skip tracks with the R1-L2 buttons. Also, the two player game is so exciting. You can flip and spin the opponent's screen with combination layer breaks. The one player game is as challenging as you are good. It is the only game that mirrors your skill ability. Only your mental dexterity and reflexes will determine how high you will get. My copy of the game is so played (I bought it new over five years ago), that I am here on eBay looking to bid on a back-up copy!

i love the action. playing with a friend its almost non-stop. if u love tetris, this is ur game. its very addictive and will keep u thinking for hours. I bought it for the challenge of the mind.

I love tetris this one is a neat version, The pieces can connect to each other or drop down further into the holes if you get the right ones... I think its cool.
