Great Rock from the 80's
Review created: 06/09/09(updated 11/28/09)

Todd Rundgren, came on board to produce melodic songs, with solid rhythm. Jon Brant contributed bass guitar. Sometimes he still plays with Cheap Trick. CT rocks with sophistication on this CD. My fav song is the sincere sounding 'I Can't Take It,' written by Robin. 'Invaders Of The Heart,' showcases Bun E.'s drumming and Rick's ability to count very quickly, lol. This song rocks. 'Borderline,' is also one of my favs. I love that guitar solo. Robin's dreamy voice in the ballad, 'Y.O.Y.O.Y.' hypnotizes. The vocals in 'Heaven's Falling,' are intoxicating. 'You Say Jump,' is fun. 'Younger Girls,' gets popish. I heard Epic forced The Motor's cover, 'Dancing The Night Away,' on CT and Ian Taylor, produced the song because, Rundgren hated it. Even though, Cheap Trick may not be thrilled with the result and I think it's wrong to push a song on a band...I love it and how it keeps the tradition, of CT's cover shattering the original. "Next Position Please," has edge. All the songs are great.
